Great job Rossi.
Idiot. Looks like he cooks up the rears just enough to induce the spin...on cold tires. IndyCar 2018 Detroit Pace Car Crashes before Race Starts!
"only driven by a GM executive. Never titled". I know I shouldn't think this is funny and someone could have been hurt. The bags even went off but I just burst out laughing when it happened. Perfect example of how much power modern hipo cars have.
Saw this on twitter, supposedly this is Chevrolet's official response. They probably could have been a little self deprecating here instead of the corporate speak Image Unavailable, Please Login
C'mon guys....all these posts and no one has the nerve to say "that will rub right out with a little compound". Boy...all I can say is ...if these is the best crapwagons can offer....bring on June 16th!
This was the CHEVROLET Grand Prix of Detroit where a GM exec crashed his CHEVROLET as a guest pace car driver. Both races of the CHEVROLET Grand Prix of Detroit were won by Honda powered cars . . . . . all in all, a weekend that, perhaps, CHEVROLET would rather forget.
I thought, in essence, I did... Even I, though, ain't blaming IRL (or whatever it is) for this arse's f-up just as I didn't blame USAC or Indy for that one. p.s. - Don't fergit we have breakfast dates (prior to start and finish...heck and during)...what's the name of that jernt along the Mulsanne....?
I guess that "race on Sunday sell on Monday" thing took a direct hit ! So we now look at Acura's instead of Corvettes ? And a ZR1 no less. We another bailout be in order at GM in the future ?
The "regular" media (I loathe the term MSM) isn't letting this go either. http://www.espn.com/racing/indycar/story/_/id/23688660/ryan-hunter-reay-wins-detroit-pace-car-crashes
Seriously, what an embarrassment for Chevrolet and IndyCar by association. Please limit sponsor big-shots to saying "Gentleman, start your engines."
Corvette wreck story aside. A positive Indycar spin on the Alonso possibility is the continual international press Indycar will get. For the next couple months, Alonso will be asked about this constantly. He may deny responding, but that won't stop the stories. Free international pr as far as I'm concerned.
Alonso WILL NOT be running an Indy car season next year. When he finally says "no" and will only do the 500, it will be a slap in the face.
"Ask these guys (looks at his team) what happened. I have no answers." What a chicken **** response by Rossi.
If the stories are to be believed that Alonso wants to win again, I'm not sure if running 1 race a year falls in to that category. Could he split his time between WEC and Indycar meaning he doesn't run a full season in either, I could buy that.
