I asked this once before but I don't think it was posted as a new response in this thread. So, I'll ask once again, does anyone have experience with either of the 2 convergence chemicals mentioned in this thread, the BASF 2000 wipes or the Bonderite M-CR Magnesium Aero Chromate Coating? I'm curious what the consensus might be as to which is the better. Other than where curb rash may have occurred, the OEM Dow 7 treatment would still be on a wheel undergoing refinishing so either of these chemicals would be applied over the Dow 7 and bare magnesium at any rash that may have occurred. It sounds like either of these 2 chemicals would be sufficient to protect the magnesium at any curb rash. Opinions.....experience?
They serve the same purpose. I went with the BASF 2000 wipes for product support and warranty reasons. Glasurit will not warranty the finish unless we use only there products from metal to finish. Also I was able to get more information on the 2000 wipes with next to nothing on the bonderite.
