Wow, that is in nice shape! Is it a Euro spec car? My car had its clutch replaced just before I bought it. I haven't had any problem with it, and I have heard they are very easy to replace (compared to the transverse cars).

I'm lost. I've owned many of these cars, but I'm not mechanically inclined. What is it that we're looking at? What makes it neccessary to keep the Speedlines?

Wheel studs in the hub, which use lug nuts. The original setup was for lug bolts, which thread directly into the hub.

There are various methods for removing studs, depending on how they were secured (e.g. loctite, etc.).

Was this changed by a previous owner, or was this an oddball from the factory?

Sorry for the delay, I'm not getting notifications for some reason!

I'm guessing an early owner of the car installed the Speedlines and perhaps the OEM wheel bolts interfere with the Speedline lug cover? After seeing it I decided not to attempt to remove the studs myself. I could ask my mechanic to do it, but they are always really busy this time of the year.

You just need to tighten two nuts on each stud against each other to act as a bolt head; assuming you have wheel bolts?

Because with that said, I'd love to buy those Speedlines from you!

Thanks, I have used that trick before. I am just worried that after 20+ years on the car that at least one of the twenty studs will be stubborn. It really just took the smallest excuse to keep those Speedlines on for the next buyer! I can track down a set later.

I have had a few suitors for the car, but left at the altar each time. Considering including the major service as part of the sale. PM if interested.

Or... ***************** has a nice black MTC for sale now. For just $35k more ;)

Curious. Why remove the Tubi for the stock exhaust? If I was buying it I would want the Tubi on it personally, major upgrade, as are the wheels.

As we discussed offline, I had a buyer that didn't want the tubi exhaust. Unfortunately the buyer flaked on me.

Does anyone here know what a tubi style muffler costs for a Mondial t? It's not a stocked part, I believe it is made to order.

Offers have been disappointing, so I have decided to hold onto the car for a bit. I think there's a bit of a slump in the collector car market right now.

I think that's exactly what is happening. I have been trying to sell some of my collector cars and same issues here, hopefully the buyers will be back soon. Good move for holding on to it.

I put some refurbished OEM wheels and some Yokohama S-Drive tires on the t coupe. I lost an inch of wheel height and tire width vs. the Speedlines, but the ride and grip are great. I used some aftermarket lug nuts rather than try to remove the wheel studs.

The weather here in the northeast has been “uncooperative” lately! :( I’m hoping to get the car detailed for a proper photo shoot soon.
