Dan, this may be a stupid question, but when you're stripping wheels like that, once you've chemically stripped the first layer, can't you get the test by blasting them with something alu-friendly? That stripping looks tedious with a capital T! Thanks for all of your posting, I know it takes much time and effort. John
Hey John, Good question. Refinishing magnesium wheels is a painfully slow process we only really offer on cars getting full paint jobs. To do it correctly you have to be very careful to preserve the dow 7 plating on the rim if its still there. So we carefully work away the layers of paint in-between regular bodyshop work. Its slow but were not really in a rush we just want a perfect finish when done. Media blasting with glass dust is the correct blasting method we use in tight to reach areas.
