    Does the lower leather trim have to come off first or can it be done without all that effort?

    You might check the threads in the 360 forum dealing with tach face replacement. They are quite detailed and have photos. If I am not mistaken, this is a step in that process, so those threads may help. Or maybe not! It has been a while since I looked at them. Good luck!

    You do not need to remove the lower half of the dash to remove the steering column cover. There are four screws on the bottom in recessed holes & a fifth screw on a tab under the dash. By telescoping & adjusting the "tilt" angle of the column you can access & remove all the screws. From there carefully separate the two halves to remove it.
