I know for many of you that have started your own car a thousand times that this video may be nothing special BUT for me this was the first time I sat in my new Ferrari and started her as the "owner" of this amazing car!!

Very cool [emoji844]Congratulations on having a Ferrari in your garage. looking forward to the experience myself when I pick up my F430 Spider in 46 days. I am waiting for spring as I am making a road trip out of bringing it up to Canada. 46 days since I bought it and 46 to go.

Congrats man I remember the same thing it was such an experience. Still to this day when I start her up it brings a smile to my face.

On a side note did anyone else the first time the my started there car sweat a little bit when the check engine light came on? It stays on longer then your typical dash and freaked me out the first time.

Speaking of cold starts, is there a general consensus here as to when it's safe mechanically for you to drive off? I heard anywhere from 1 minute to 10 minutes after warming up. Does the oil temp need to get at least to 160?

You can drive off whenever you want. It's just best not to drive it hard (above 3-4K rpm) until your oil is up to temp.

I drive off immediately, but take it slow and don’t go above 3k rpm until the oil temp has warmed up

That's correct. It's best not to wait too long before rolling off as you need to gently warm up the transmission oil and such as well. Maybe wait about 30 seconds and then just drive gently until the oil reaches a good temperature.

Lovely! Can’t help but notice your check engine light is staying on though for some time[emoji53] before going out?

I usually turn the ignition on and wait until all the buzzards stop. Then, I start it...and let the cold start sound diminish before taking off. This can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute.

Very nice, congratulations. Just did my first start a couple of weeks ago and it’s such an exhilarating experience, as a mater of fact they still are.

I wait for the engine to "settle down" and then drive off, but I don't push it hard until the temps come up.

I'll usually wait 30 seconds to 1 minute, however, when I creep out for Sunday Morning Drives, the car is quite loud with the full IPE, and I don't want to bother other people in my complex at 6AM on Sunday, so I start, and instantly creep out, and then on the road I'll let it idle for another minute or two before I drive it slowly until it gets up to operating temp.

I let Sophia idle about 5 minutes before leaving for work 7AM. Neighbor uses it as his alarm. Has Tubi exhaust, love it!

Same here with my 360. I wait only until I can hear the (emissions) air injection pump turn off. About 10-15 seconds, maybe. Then drive gently until everything is warm.

The sound never gets old! Congrats!

It may be a thrill for you, but I get nervous every time I go to start mine, lol.
Undeservedly, I should say. It’s never let me down...but the gang here has gotten in my head. ;)

Thats what I noticed too. Albeit I'm having a 360 but my CE light goes away as fast as the "Ready" message comes visible after turning the ignition, around 2-3 sec.

If you want that thrill all the time, just unplug the vacuum lines (fill them tight with a golf tee to avoid CEL messages) and tuck them away so that don’t flap around, and enjoy that glorious orchestra all the time!!
