I don't how many threads i read about this process and how many people i called to get quotes for doing the work but i am so glad i tried it myself . Left the office around 4:30 , got home about 5:15 and was sitting there looking at my lights . My son had his t-ball playoff game at 7:15 and we have to be there about 6:45 . I remember reading this thread.........

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/disassembling-360-headlights.206647/

I figure what the hell and go at it . Had the lenses off in enough time to still to still throw a couple of balls with my son to warm him up before the game . Got home around 9:00 last night and spent another 30 minutes cleaning all the old adhesive off . Job done and now i need to start polishing , which i will be doing this weekend . Here is what i used for tools..........

Moral of the story...it's a win win situation ! Kids won the game and my wallet won the payment battle !

Oh yea I meant to tell if any tape touches the silver part around the bulb if will flake off . He had to repaint them with some chrome paint just thought you should know . Nice work sir you save enough money to buy some more parts in the tune of 4000.00 :)

My car is being completely color changed at the price of $3500.00 . Of course I am going to give him a $1000.00 tip because he is doing it right and will use a bunch of coats of clear . So this complete color change is going to cost me $4500.00 but i guess i can deal with it ;) I bet people wished they lived here in El Paso :D

Also leaving the headlights black for a more modern look .

From my experience they are usually 15 to 20k for a good full re-color down to metal and removing all panels etc

Bad430Benz did he remove your doors and front and rear bonnet ? My painter charge me 8000.00 I thought that was high as hell, but then he told me the materials Standox paint that is maid in Germany very high end paint he used .He sprayed six coats of clear over the painted Italian Flag and then he cut and buff the paint. The materials cost just over 3000.00 . Most paint shops charge 3000.00 just for cut and buff to make paint flat .

Flash32 you are wright to do it perfect so it does not look like a repaint most shops that paint exotic cars will quote 15000.00 to 20000.00 . My painter had my car for nine months .. :D He did tell me I do not ever want to see another Ferrari ever it kick his butt.

But you guys don't live in a border town like i do . Being so close to Mexico , i basically get Mexico pricing except for those that think they live elsewhere and charge 10k+ for paint jobs . Of course they don't stay as busy .

I forgot...panels removed also , which he said were a real pain in the a55 :D

Having had many cars painted in CA, I have had to travel and buy my own paint. In my experience, cost of quality paint alone is more than $3,500.

A couple hours of time to separate the lenses and $140.00 to buff and reattach the lenses . Oh yeah , also bought brand new rubber gaskets and had them overnighted to me for $250.00 . I think i saved myself a ton of money and time handling the whole process myself .

    Final results..........
