The man with the hat in pic 3 Isn't Mussolini. He has different face and a different body. Besides he doesn't wear the proper uniform because he wears a MVSN Colonel uniform. Behind him I can recognize Vittorio Stanguellini.
It seems confusing pictures, but I turn back to see this Italian site and I did a picture.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Today, I m not convinced, but I confirm with a better picture it can be easier. Another thing is the date 1930/31? It seems that Alfa Romeo give in charge the construction of this Bimotore to Enzo. The small story said that Alta was furious with this picture. The Alfa logo are not on body of this car, but SF is clearly apparent. Alfa was the favourite car for Mussolini.
Pictures 1 -2 Enzo is not on the list. No list of names available, but you can easily find Nuvolari and the Ducce. Probably others people are coming from Alfa Romeo company, politics, investisor or friends etc... now the last man in front entrance....pic 1 ? Picture 3 Enzo is near a military officer, Some said Mussolini, (pictures links said Mussolini)and others that it was another man probably for a delegate officer sent for the inaugural day.
I can confirm you that the man in uniform isn't Mussolini, I'm 100% sure. History is the butter on my morning bread.
I like to be convinced....any more argument? Butter is not enough for me Do you have more names for this picture? A year 1930/31, a place, anymore information? It can be Mussolini brother? My apologies if you was offended, it s not what I want to do.
I'm not 100% sure, but I could confirm that the man with the hat is Guido Corni (Pic 3). He was an important modenese entrepreneur, deputy, governor of Somalia and Enzo Ferrari's friend. In that picture the man wears the uniform of the Arditi's corps, so this exclude he can be Mussolini, as he didn't have a great feeling with them.
No offence. The bigger problem for a foreigner about the Italian history is assuming theories. Assuming isn't not a correct scientific method, besides we need analysis and research. You said Mussolini brother, ok, I reply why? Googling Mussolini brother, Arnaldo, you'll discover that he was director of a newspaper, non a fighter or a ex-fighter, neither a MVSN member. Moreover he died in 1931 because an hearth attack. So that man isn't Arnaldo Mussolini. Andrea said he is Guido Corni and that he wears at the Arditi uniform. Ok, Goggling Corni, former Somalia governor in 1931, you'll find that he started a business in south Somalia since July 1931 regarding cotton and bananas. Goggling Arditi you'll discover that this Army special force was formed in 1917 and dismissed in early 1920. During the WWII some Arditi regiments were formed again. Why Andrea confused the Arditi uniform with the MVSN uniform? Because many parts of the MVSN uniform derived from the Arditi uniform. All of these informations are available googling the keywords, isn't necessary to have a competence in this period history or a connection with the Historical office of the Army headquarters, like I have. The further step is find various pics of Corni and compare those faces with this one in pic 3 and see how the facial recognition matches.
I m agree for foreign people each country history is sometimes difficult to assimilate. As Andrea confirm, Mr Corni Seems to be the man on this picture. Period picture looks to be in 30/31, but I don t know the place, Modena, Bologna ??
Highly interesting comment and thanks for the input. Corni was Ferrari's friend and an early Modenese fascist. But is it really an Arditi uniform and was Corni an Arditi? After the first war the elite Arditi troups were formed again just after 1940.
#8, I think it is the Alfa Romeo tipo B/P3 use by Tazio Nuvolari at the Coppa Acerbo at Pescara, mid august 1932.
IF the pic was taken in 1931. the location is Bologna because the company moved to Modena after the Orsi family purchasing only.
Yes it is. Moreover the officers hat was different depending on the Army specialties. This hat is a Mountain troops hat used without the pen by the Arditi Legionari during the occupation of Fiume (Croatia) in early 1920. Unfortunately I can't see the badge on the front because the pic resolution is very poor.
Orsi bought the Maserati company in 1937 and moved it to Modena. So IF this pic was taken in 1931, the location is Bologna and not Modena.
I perfectly know the story of Maserati, the brothers Maserati and the Orsi family. But they have nothing to do with this thread and the pictures . We are discussing about Alfa Romeo, Enzo Ferrari, Nuvolari, Corni...
