My right rear turn signal is cracked and broken, new one came today in the mail (hooray!!). I see the 3 long screws (m4) and have the requisite 7mm deep socket. Got the nuts loosened, but how do you get the assembly out, it doesn't move a millimeter. Push stupid hard[emoji12]? Missing the blatantly obvious (probably[emoji20] )
    Tips, hints are gratefully accepted
    Thanks

On my ‘82 308i they were held tight by the weather stripping. Fairly easy push and they broke the seal.

Maybe a PO added sealant on yours?!

Sometimes the rubber gasket get stuck which makes is stubborn to pull or push the assembly out. Just work it slowly little by little

As above - the gasket was like a limpet! Used a plastic scraper to get under without scratching paint. Much gentle wiggling and some warm soapy water!

I had the same, then realised the threaded ‘screws’ were pushing out on the holes on the body sort locking it in place on the thread, so just gently pinch them into the middle of the lamp unit and push the unit out at the same time. Should come out easily if same issue.

Thanks for the tips, tried again tonight and it came out with little effort. I was too chicken to push hard last night without checking with the 308 gurus here.
Found a paint chip hiding behind the gasket, took care of that. Just have to wait for that to dry to put the new one in.
Hopefully the other side shows up in the mail tomorrow and repeat the process.
