Is your point RB should have done better in Baku as a low speed circuit?

Check my math but pulling course distance and lap records off Wikipedia I get average speeds Monaco 100mph, Baku 130mph and Canada 132mph

So no. Baku is not low speed and RB assumed their usual third spot. Even got passed by TR and Renault.

Right. I believe they run excessive downforce for all but The slowest tracks

SF will never exit F1. Ferrari is F1. That’s like saying the Yankees will leave MLB.

As the new issue of F1 Magazine puts it: F1 needs Ferrari, and Ferrari needs F1.

So from what I get on Wikipedia about France 3.6 miles and a fast lap of 1.16 I get 170 mph average (check my math) which seems fast compared to the last few races. I will expect Mercedes to be fastest followed by Ferrari. RB may get challenged by the also ran teams.

Looks like I had some bad facts. So France length is 3.63 miles but practice 2 time is 1.32 (no recent fast race lap times). So I get 141mph average. Still should be an advantage to Mercedes.

I think Merc walks away with this race.

They definitely have the set up advantage. Luck is always factor.
