So the 'reasonably priced 'vino rosso' question seems to be resolved to satisfaction all round, but *everyone* knows you need the correct chocolate pairing to go with after dinner vino... Lindt has a new flavour out, and in combination with an old favourite, it's ... the indoor equivalent of a fang up the mountains in the 308! i present: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now that pairing got me to thinking about more deluxe wine / chocolate pairings... in Italy I got into the habit of taking Ferrari prosecco and Fiat chocolates to any home invitation... to be honest, the chocolates are great, the vino is so-so. Deluxe version would be artisanal chocolatier selections and Sperti prosecco (only available in the region).
Note to Maranello 550- next time you're in a Wellcome pick up a couple of "French Cellars" shiraz ($100/2!). This is like a home brand, but it is French vineyards under the direction of a young Aussie vigneron and while not a 'great' wine, unbelievable value for money as house plonk. Goes fine with Cadbury's Old Gold
