This is 0110E. I used to know her when she was black (previous owner).
The 212 Export was a competition chassis that used various configurations in production; barchetta, berlinetta, spyder, and cabriolet. 27 cars were made between 1951 and 1952.
Two cars on that chassis carried road bodies; 0106E and 0110E. They are virtual twins. Wolves in sheep's clothing, if you will.
There are other, similar looking Vignale cabriolets from this period that ride on other Ferrari chassis, but there are only 2 212 Export Vignale Cabriolets.
0106E lived in England for a long time and 0110E was in Germany. These days they are both in the USA.
Two absolute gems and very special cars.

Someone should build a watch based on those gauges, I'd buy one immediately.

There is only a wrong detail on this car: the French "F" on the trunk doesn't match with an Italian license plate.

    Disagree.
0110 E was sold new on the 17th July 1951 to first owner Jorge Da Cunha D’Almeida Araujo, who was the Portuguese ambassador in FRANCE. Car registered on ITALIAN license plates of Modena "MO 25509".
Factory period photo shows the "F".

It s your opinion, and I respect it. I don t know if the car used French plates during is small apparence in Paris. Probably not, probably a diplomatic plates.

The wrong detail in this car is the colour. Originally black and not burgundy.

    Disagree.
The original color was not black. It was Carminio 1141 Lechleroid which is dark red. See second from left on bottom line.

Well, it seems people above thinking black ...
Picture above show a black car.

Anyway, the important question is to know is the car today gets original colour?

    Burgundy Vs Carminio.

Great chart of colour, is it you © picture?
If yes, I will Photoshop with carminio to see the effect on it

This is a common mistake seeing a B/W picture. For example the Rosso corsa becomes medium grey; amaranto, green and blue, of course, become black.
The perception of the human eyes is different to different people, but if you enlarge the pic you can see clearly that because the canvas top is black, the body color can't be black, but a different color.

Besides, the problem with the old charts is the aging of the samples, especially when they were not kept in the dark, but on a table or in the bookshelf of a workshop... I talked with the Lechler factory specialists many times and they gave me the same answer often: many test are necessary before to understand if a color matches or not and the mixing paint machine (tintometro) doesn't help so much. But one point is clear always: the chart samples aren't affordable anymore. That's a big problem for the owners and the restorers too. Fortunately here we are talking about a solid paint, imagine what 'ld happen with a metallic one.....

Y a des questions qui derrange.
As you must to know chart of colour is composed by a reference, (number) in front each reference you had a colour.
Each colour is created a formula, all are different.
Concerning the machine producing the colour it s necessary 3 things. First, always using the same machine company, 2 a correct maintenance, 3 same basis for creating the product. (There's 3 bases for Colors).

Same color ingredients for the formula, same machine, same basis, I can insure you the same colour in 10 or 30 years.

Nice, picture is dated the same year it was sold to the Portuguese Ambassador. So he keeps this plates for Paris?

Less one year later the car was sent to USA. Strange, no?

Actual plates are fakes, I mean reproduction ?

I agree, but you know that nitrocellulosa paints and water paints give different results, because the chemical components are different.
Theoretically everything will be fine, on the field not so often. What I'm trying to say is that it's impossible to reproduce the precise tone of the original color, it will be a little bit darker or lighter always.

Yes they are. If you see, there is too many space between the numbers and the font is little. It's typical of the US reproductions.
