It’s not enough to have the best car or be a gifted driver. Strategy and the ability to keep a cool head is essential.

    Bring Leclerc!

They need to improve the traffic management at this GP - traffic to reach the track, traffic on the track :D
I hope next GPs will be better for Ferrari, without the Mecedes-spec Pirelli tyres.

IMHO, Unfortunately Ferrari’s result is due to the team’s inability, not the car. The car showed great pace - speed traps, fast laps etc..

In my opinion, Ferrari’s team inability to keep a cool attitude, efficient execution and avoid mistakes such as today’s is much more worrying than having a not so competitive car or tire management.

Someone called the McLaren a brick.

No no. A brick is much faster.

He didn't have a bad start at all, was fighting with Ricciardo.

He had to take avoiding action after Vettel clattered into Bottas however, unless you expect him to just nail the throttle and join their party?

So then he had to retake all the places lost, which he did, and even took Ricciardo near the end. The Red Bull is a fast race car.

Brilliant, good on him. I don't think he's having a dig at Vettel, very much at the media though.

Mistakes happen. Good recovery from Seb. Accepted blame.

Max did well to earn his media spotlight with multiple incidents. The dig he made today was un-necessary and petty. He does not take criticism well and that is a major weakness of his. He needs to talk less and keep driving well. He had an opportunity to add to the conversation as a professional and again acted like a spoilt child rather simply make a comment of the penalty was fair or should have been more. He will not win against the media. They will outlast him and F1.

So somebody who got a penalty for causing a collision is voted driver of the day!!!!!!!

I don't care who the driver is or if you like him or not; that just sets a new pathetic low.

Vettel is not the driver of the day LOL. He hit someone and destroyed their race. That should not be rewarded. Silly it is.

actually he hit 2 people, one of which he ruined their race and the other not so much. Agreed with your last statement.

Access to the track is really terrible - there were reports of people stuck in traffic jam for 7 hours to get there... people knowing the place (most local people) would think twice before trying to attend, and people not knowing will have learned for the next time, so that attendance will only get worse.
I really wonder how they could chose Le Castellet over Magny-Cours, which is far easier to reach; the issue is that the GP could only be organised with local politicians support (because of the cost), and none supported Magny-Cours.

Magny was very easy and pleasant experience in 2008. For now I would not consider Ricard.

But we knew that yesterday. This is no surprise. In fact when Bottas went out early so went his only competition for the day. Max drove well but conservatively. Kim actually did well to finish 3rd.

What a lousy, horrible, awful day for McLaren. Alonso sounded like he wanted to come in and give up at one point. When you are fighting with Stroll for last place, you know something is really wrong.
