Where is the Yellow car going?
I'm not quite sure to be honest, this car was/has been on the market for a long time. Have always loved yellow, but my personal preference would include a black interior and original wheels.
Fun at the house....pay no mind to the unhealthy amount of QPIIIs Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The yellow car needs alot of work. Ive known the car since it was new rolling around South Florida. Even almost bought it when it was for sale by Auto Panache in Ft Lauderdale.
Wow, I remember that car at Auto Panache. Someone should put that car back to original spec, completely go through it. Could be a cool car once finished.
I looked at the yellow car years ago before I bought mine. It was in NJ at Interstate. It had a coating of fire extinguser dust in the engine bay...cant believe he was showing the car without cleaning it up alittle first
Awesome. Could it sound and response better? Smiley face. Not much trottle lag. Or hesitation. Not saying anyrhing, but?
The original owner of my first Countach , also an 87. This car I converted to EFI and distributor-less ignition. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Be careful, Joe wont be able to sleep at night knowing Mario (being able to buy whatever he wants) chose a QV FI car to cruise around in
You’re only telling half the story, as Mario actually first chose a carbureted Countach to cruise around in. The fact is, his "very first Lamborghini" (his words, not mine) was a late Countach LP500S ELA12773 in original carbureted specification. I sold this beautiful Countach to a prominent collector and client of mine, and the car was provided with a personal letter from Mario confirming that it was his first Lamborghini. BTW, I think it’s great that Fuelies exist and people love them, as all Countachs should be, the only reason why the comparison with Downdrafts has ever been highlighted in recent times is because 2 particular Fuelie owners who are fascinated by the Downdraft go over to the Downdraft thread and invite the discussion! I think Fuelie owners should appreciate their cars and be completely unfazed if owners of other variants of Countach (LP400 thru 25th) want to appreciate their cars and highlight the best aspects of them. Please rest assured, I do sleep quite well at night Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would have chosen the 5000 carbed over the FI car also. But looks like he chose the Fuelie when it came time to purchase a QV
From what I have read on here, about 8-11 QV Downdrafts were sold in the US before the DOT and EPA put their foot down, and required the emissions equipment to be added, for which Lamborghini added the FI system as it was more easily tuned to meet emissions standards. But I'm no expert.
You don't have to change them, you could have the original ones reground. In order to install carbs you'd have to source both intake manifolds, proper fuel pump, hood, and the carbs of course, along with some other basic items (airbox etc). Sourcing an original hood is the hardest part, otherwise it's a very straight forward proposition.
Hood is no problem, will not be original, but hand laminated with traditional glass and kevlar,as done back then
