I haven't checked, but I think Kimi won 2 GPs at Lotus. When he arrived in F1 at Sauber, Kimi was quite a sensation. In fact, he had some problem getting a Super License. At that time, he had only 23 races under his belt, in different categories.
Win won't change me as driver says Raikkonen JUNE 26, 2018 Kimi Raikkonen has denied that he desperately needs a grand prix win. The 38-year-old Finn is not commenting on widespread speculation that Ferrari intends to replace him for 2019 with rising talent Charles Leclerc. Raikkonen's form has been up and down over the past seasons, including a solid start in 2018 that now sees him struggling in qualifying. "I don't know why it's been more difficult in the last qualifying sessions compared to the first ones, but we are working to improve the situation," he said at Paul Ricard. "You do not get worse in just a few sessions." So he denied that a sudden burst in form now, including what would be his first win since 2013, will make all the difference in what could be his last ever season in F1. "It does not affect the way I drive," he said. "I've already won in the past and I don't see why I can't win again. Ok I haven't won for a while, but when you win, you're not a different driver."
Let's not forget he almost certainly had a podium at Imola 2001 (Sauber), only for the steering wheel to fall off (!!!) and causing a crash.
KImi during the Austrian Press conference about Paul Ricard: Raikkonen; "What you ask? I don't think its right to... I think its the track where you can actually race. It was difficult.. We were racing two different races so it was different and enjoyable to race for some time" and on Mclaren Raikkonen to Crofty about McLaren link question: "I spoke to them for sure. I have been there before, but its not important to get into it. You can put it anyway you like, You often ask the question. You can right YES or No... Like you always do"
Kimi to McLaren??? OMG...poor McLaren. https://www.planetf1.com/news/raikkonen-linked-with-mclaren-return/
They could do worse, you know. In fact, do they deserve him? But really, if Kimi gets the boot at the Scuderia, he should consider something else, or retire. Look how Button is enjoying semi-retirement.
He always has his motocross team to manage... https://www.wheels24.co.za/Motorsport/raikkonen-runs-best-motocross-team-rider-20160511 http://www.ice1racing.fi
To know that for sure maybe he should start to try I like Kimi and I am certain that having Kimi at Ferrari makes the team a little bit more harmonic than other drivers but he does not add too much to a WCC, not even talking about taking away points of the Mercedes to help Seb for a WDC...He is not bad but I think Ferrari might find someone who does the same for less money
Kimi always says he will keep racing as long as he enjoys it,so if Ferrari ditch him ,and Nando finally decides to move on, then why not? At least he would not be playing second fiddle to Vettel, which must be getting old. For sure he doesn't need the $$ and would be not as demanding as Nando,McLaren would be crazy not to take him,if available.
"Mumble, mumble, mumble..." (long silence....) "Mumble, mumble; think what you want, I don't care" (long silence) "the result will be what we'll see at the flag" (silence) "leave me alone, I know what I am doing" Rgds
