Nico Rosberg as a pundit.....

I like the guy, three main reasons

1). He has at least driven the current vacuum cleaners in anger, so he is qualified to have an opinion, unlike the majority of the Sky team who are only there to lick Elton’s ass
2). He is a class act, thoughtful, concise, knowledgable.... you learn things when he talks, again, unlike sky whose only roles are to cheerlead for elton when he’s winning, and make excuses for him if he isn’t
3) he pokes fun at elton with his anecdotes about beating him..... Love it

 

Nico is a good addition. As an ex-driver, he has excellent questions for the drivers, as well as excellent insight, having experienced everything so recently.

I do wish he was still driving though.....

You were not banned because you're a Tifoso, you were banned because you were trolling and out of control. With you deliberately misrepresenting the reason for your ban and the moderation position, I can only determine that the lesson has not been learned.

You have another month for further self reflection.

And I don't agree with your full forum bans for paying subscribers (most having supported the site for many years).

 

Back to Nico. I like Nico as a commentator, but at times, he seems rather stiff.

 

I like him better as a commentator than a driver. He still comes off as a bit smuggish... but it would be great to let him loose a bit and get into the behind the scenes nitty-gritty of stuff rather than fluff stuff as the Breck Girl.

 

Every mod action I take is announced in public, and logged in the mod forum for both reference and discussion. In instance, I also emailed Rob Lay immediately with an additional action report to discuss it with him. If I was on a personal vendetta against any user, Rob would know and I would rightly be relieved of duty.

Being a paying subscriber does not factor into moderation decisions - even sponsors have been banned upon occasion.

You're literally just banned him again for a MONTH "because a lesson was not learned''. There was zero trolling, no personal attacks, nothing. You just banned him outright for a month. You do not even do him the kindness of just the F1 section ban. From that I conclude personal vendetta.

This comes from a man who dives in conversations calling people ''a ****ing moron'' on multiple occasions. Double standard?

Now, I'm not saying I was deeply offended seeing such language (quite the opposite, I'm an adult and sweary words do not hurt me), but the quote ''lead by example'' springs to mind.

 

Fair warning: making it personal with Rob is really not a good idea.

I don't agree with many decisions around here either (i don't think telling someone he should look himself in the mirror before acusing someone was a reason to ban me), i also don't think there was the need to ban daytona again. I know he's very impulsive and always speaks his mind, as did Aircon, but the truth is , this place is a lot worse without them. I agree there has to be some self restrain from users but this as gotten to a point were i sometimes think if i should consult with a mod before i post a certain picture or some sort of joke, seriously!!
I have the best impressions on most people around here, mods included, i know this is not "my" forum, other people get to decide if i can or if i cannot participate, but i feel that in the quest for controling posters and discussions this place is becoming a bit sterile and too sanitized, it's almost like we have to tiptoe around here and quite frankly, that's not the kind of feeling most of us want to feel around here.
I know i have no saying in this but i feel that with all the time i have spent here, all the posts, pictures, news i have posted, i have the right to state my opinion.
I love it here, but i feel that in your "quest" to "educate" and "control" all the users and turn them into well behaved schoolboys you destroying the fun and interesting part about it.

I have to state that I like Nico, I think he does a good job and I like his vlogs as well. With time I feel he will get more comfortable and he will improve.
