I'm looking for any body that has pictures or stories about Mr. Norwood or John Carmack. I'm currently an employee of Mr. Norwood and would love to see some of the old stuff he did or here some great stories about either one of them. Thank,
    Robert Hale

I've seen the TR and the F50 in person, the F50 was having the turbos removed at the time as it it was being returned to its original state getting ready to be put up for sale. I seem to recall the TR developed some serious engine problems. It was a noisy beast, and sounded awesome. Pretty sure I have pictures of both from a dozen years ago.

I remember seeing the Carbon fibre black "308" in the back of the Love field shop for awhile.
It was supposed to have the custom V-12 that Bob started back when the shop was on 35.
Hell it probably has roots back the Highland Park shop.

There was supposed to be buckets of cash into developing that car.
    Wonder where it is ?

Interesting. Has it been returned to stock or is it still massaged? Seems I recall that car was supposed to make some serious power.

    It's extra massaged now. :)

LM turbos, LM brakes, LM suspension (shocks/springs and Michelotto wishbones), Michelotto dual master pedal box, on and on. Petrolicious will do a vid on it in the spring.

The best part is that I spent a fortune on new parts from Ferrari, Michelotto, as well the UK F40LM specialists and I now have a Ferrari that's so properly fitted and well built and well done that I finally have the F40 that epitomizes the best of what one can be. I know that Bob Norwood made it into a great starting point but I've been able to take it further.

Incidentally, I called Bob Norwood years ago when I got the car and asked if he could shed any light on the history or share any records with me and he completely blew me off. I called several times but eventually got the picture and didn't bother him any more.

Sounds like an awesome example! Looking greatly forward to the Petrolicious piece. As I've mentioned to you elsewhere, to me the F40 is the Ultimate Car, and those mods have got to take it to a whole 'nother level, so it'll be a must-see video for me. :)

My understanding is that it was done, but the guy that bought it from Carmack was pretty tall and needed the seat moved back. That necessitated $10,000 in work moving the engine accessories to lower positions to allow the back firewall to be moved or angled at least. He sold the car before that work was finished.

Then the current owner didn't like the F40 style back plexiglass and wanted it to look like a real 288gto, so that necessitated quite a few changes to the roof and rear body.

We didn't do a video on my car yet. Petrolicious and Ferrari called last year to film and it wasn't something that I could do in the time frame they wanted for a couple of reasons so they did someone else's, which was great. That said, the producer still wants to do something with my car and we talked this past week about doing something this fall. We will see.

Cool! I think it's particularly interesting that it's Carmack's car. Him and his business partner buying these cars is a lot of what got me interested in them at the time. I mean, they made doom man! My career feels very intertwined with them in so many ways that it makes their cars special.

Super old thread I know, but I was searching for history about it and came across this post that sherpa23 was the current owner. Pretty cool this Internet thing! ;) Curious if they ever did a Petrolicious video on sherpa23's car? I would love to see it but I can't find anything. I was there during it's dyno run when Carmack owned it. I believe it put out 390RWHP stock and 420RWHP after having the boost tweaked up a little. I posted the vid in this thread.
