    Joe.....yeeeeeeeees, we all know now that you have great cars! But the 250GTO is on a different level. Compared to that one the 288GTO is pocket money...;)

    I can live with that, after all, since the beginning if this thread we've sold @ five (5) Downdrafts and the content within the thread has been deemed by others to be educational and helpful in making a great decision.

    But that's not the only reason the thread was started, it was started based on passion & enthusiasm for the variant, admittedly something that has ignited within the last few years because of circumstances that have worked out.

    That image was purely for purposes of illustration of Countach and GTO, there is a lovely picture of a Countach Downdraft and a pale green 250 GTO in Scotland posted earlier in the thread that is probably better. But as far as values are concerned, you are 100% correct!

    Joe has surely put a lot of effort into this thread. I would say if you added up the hours of actual time plus time it took him to gather the documentation that is on basically every page of this thread plus time spent restoring the car plus opportunity cost missed during that time(plus,plus,plus) and sold his car now , his hourly wage might not be as great as some would think! Sure , everyone would like to make a profit on their car if they sell. What’s the problem? Everyone who has read this thread is guaranteed to have MUCH more knowledge than when it started. Someone needed to bring this special car into the limelight ( so thanks Joe) and if it helps the values of other DD’s and the FI in the process , great.

    One thing that is clear is the need for a good publication with perhaps less technical illustrations that simplifies all the variants so that the uninitiated can grasp the differences

    I really appreciate the positive thoughts, thank you.

    The way I contribute to this thread is actually with the help of many people who send me material, and I basically post whilst I am working on other things in my office - multitasking at it's best! I could not afford to spend dedicated time on this, but I guess the passion for the cars makes it work somehow.

    As for the Mimram Countach, if anyone thinks this one is for sale, they can always try buying it...

    Yes white caulking, apologies for the poor cellphone image but it’s actually an off-white color that can only be described as dirty white to mimic the original color, sparingly applied in a thin caulk, so as to avoid the over-application that you so often see (erroneously) done in recent times.
