This will probably only be of interest to the watch geeks on the forum, but during my daily browse of Hemmings I noticed that Ben Clymer's 201 456M GT is up for sale. Clymer founded the mother ship of all watch websites Hodinkee, and is thus a default minor celebrity to those of us who nerd out on our wristwatches.

It seems like a lovely car. He said in the attached Petrolicious interview that he planned to hold onto it for a long time, but so much for that. Haha.

Either way...TDF blue, nice tan interior with Daytona seats. Seems to be in top shape. Seems a bit optimistic to me to ask $125k in the current market, even for a manual, but a nice example nonetheless.

Very cool wheels indeed. Although I lifted that pic from the Petrolicious article. Looks like it's for sale with the standard factory wheels...which I prefer a bit, actually.

Looking at the photos, it's more than just the stick. That car looks flawless.

    Hi Guys!

Indeed, the car was mine and indeed it did sell! I just completed a major, major service on it, and made the car as tight as humanly possible for the next owner. It went to a great guy who has a few Dinos in the Detroit area. I'll keep the VIN private out of respect to the new owner.

The 456 was such a wonderful car – the ultimate gentleman's Ferrari IMHO, but I found myself simply not using it as much as my older, slower, slightly more uncomfortable cars. I live in NYC and when I drive, I usually go out solely "to drive" and the older cars, on the back roads north of NYC work better together. If money was no concern, I would've kept the 456 forever, but it is what it is and one can only have so many toys. I am sure I'll be back in the Ferrari world soon enough.

    All the best,

    Ben

PS - "default minor celebrity" is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me :)

    Hey Ben,

In the listing you mentioned you were making room for a new incoming. Care to let us in on what you’re getting?

    Thanks
