    Happy 4th of July everyone!

Decided to take the CS out for a drive today (only 3rd time this year :( ) and had a rather uncomfortable experience as the A/C just wasn’t performing as it should especially in stop and go traffic. I checked the lo and hi pressures and they seem to be in the ball park (maybe a tad high), but I did notice that the A/C condenser fan is only running intermittently – like it turns on for about 5-10 secs every couple of minutes.

My memory is failing me, isn’t it supposed to run continuously? Could the fan relay be going out?
    Thx for suggestions!

No, it is not supposed to run continuously even when the ac is turned on, but you would think once triggered to turn on it would run more than a few seconds. That doesn’t seem right.

Your fan motor might be failing or the A/C control unit has gone bad

Is your AC compressor cycling in sync with the intermittently running fan?
That would point to the Freon as read by the PS

    Misunderstood your issue.

Not evaporator fan but the condenser fan.

A/C compressor in not cycling out, just the fan. It is noisy but still seems to function ok when it is triggered. Checked the following:
Checked the Hi/Lo pressure and they are in the right range 13.5 to 2 bar when compressor on.
The condenser is very hot so the system is operating.
I pulled the boot cover to check the lines, the line to the condenser is very hot while the return is barely cool.
I checked the relay R2 which controls the fan, it is energized so there is power going to the fan circuit though I presume the trinary switch/ECU controls on and off function.

Not really sure where to go from here other than evacuating the system, replacing the receiver dryer and recharging the system? Any other thoughts?

Your r134 level is low. Evac and recharge to proper weight..and check for leaks.
