Image Unavailable, Please Login Hi guys , Our Mondial made the front cover of this magazine ( Aug 2018) . I hope I get to find this issue in the Philippines. I’m sure it will be available in the USA . Best regards , Luigi
Although I obviously like the "modern classic' byline I hate the implications around a 'bargain'. It makes the car seem cheap in the wrong sense. Still I haven't read the whole article yet so it might ok. I'll check it out when the issue appears.
I certainly sympathize with your sentiments, but I do agree it is a 'bargain' comapred to other Ferrari. One can get a nice example for less then 40K. Is 30-40K 'cheap?'. I would say 'moderately' priced is an apt word when compared to all cars; but in the Ferrari world, that is quite a deal in my opinion. Especially if you aquire one that has been cared for properly.

Here you go, my friend. Some choice quotes: "Fast, practical and affordable: why the Mondial is a modern classic great" "...most of the bad press emanated from America, where the cars only made 205 bhp*" "Built by Scaglietti, the body was attributed to Leonardo Fioravanti of Pininfarinia**" "What I can say is that the Mondial is a car with capabilities way beyond my talents, and probably yours, cornering in the Mondial is mainly flat, with a hint of roll in tight turns and always enough grip to spare at both ends" "In a world where modern Ferraris seem to be getting uglier and more offensive on a daily basis, the Mondial is looking better all the time; prices will rise, and probably are already." -Martin Buckley **************** "I think it's one of the most underrated Ferraris ever made" "You get comments such as "Hey, love your car, mate!" And you suddenly become a nicer person in a really cool car." "In fact, the biggest fault with the Mondial is that the wrong people have maintained the cars through the years and are still messing with them today." -John Pogson 6 Time British Championship Winner for Ferrari 15 Years Ferrari Engineer in Maranello 25 Years Ferrari Specialist in Italia Autosport *Brake horsepower (BHP) is the measure of an engine's horsepower (HP) before the loss in power caused by the gearbox, alternator, differential, water pump, and other auxiliary components such as power steering pump, muffled exhaust system, etc. (Paul: 15% is usually the conservative loss for drivetrain - which puts the real HP figure around 175 HP which jives with the ~180hp figure I've heard thrown around for the US Mondial 8 variants, which represent just 2% of all Mondials ever in existence) **Other designs by Leonardo Fioravanti include: Dino 206 Ferrari 512 Ferrari 288 GTO Ferrari 308 GTB Ferrari 365GTB, popularly known as the Daytona Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 Ferrari Mondial Ferrari F40
I particularly like the acknowledgement that the longer wheelbase took out some of the twitchiness out of the car. It is something I noticed and is a benefit rarely considered. Regards, Jerry
It was mentioned in the article that the doors of our car is aluminum same as the front & engine bonnet . Is this correct ? Or are the doors made of steel ? Or is it aluminum doors for the coupe & steel for the cabs ?
Hi Paul , Thanks for the reply . Maybe Stekkefun4 can confirm this for us since he sells parts for Mondial Best regard , Luigi
So is the hood on my T metal or composite? I was looking at it the other day and it looks like composite.
Thank you Paul. It actually was a realistic view of the car. Good news as the magazine is highly rated.
Thanks Stekken4 and others who responded to my question regarding the door of our Mondial Best regard , Luigi
