    I think it's crazy how people use these cars as "money make machines"! I could never part with mine for a few bucks more.

    Just saw the new Comedians in Cars getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld and Tracy Morgan in 288 GTO 53289 which we supplied, I must say Jerry drives it well and the car looks superb!

    Fourplay.

    The GTO will always be the beginning of the Ferrari Supercar Series, numero uno, the one from which all others descend as long as the series continues

    When I was 7 or 8 I saw a GTO parked outside my school. It might as well have been an alien spaceship it was so out of place. The owner must have seen me nearly wet myself with excitement because he let me sit in the drivers seat while he went off to speak to someone! When he came back there was a queue of about 50 kids waiting for their turn... so everyone got a quick go! Very sadly the chap died soon after when the engine in his Spitfire seized and he was forced to crash land... Sadly not a picture from the day but one I found many years later of the same car;

    GTO 55687, ex-the late Charles Church, nowadays UK-registered B 517 NDL, probably showing close to 70,000 on the clock by now

    Several GTOs are known to have over 100,000kms on the clock

    Joe, to be correct, the 288 was just assembled on the V8 assembly line (on the left, with GTO and Mondial). The one on the right is the 12 cylinders assembly line (in fact there are Testarossa and 400 i, no V8 there). No 288 GTO was ever assembled on the 12 cylinders production line and not "wherever they could within the factory" nor "so you often see images of the GTO being assembled amongst Mondials, Testarossas & 400is", as I never saw one.

    ciao

    That's the guy. Interestingly, whilst his GTO might be have been a perfect example his Spitfire was very controversial with the aircraft purists and historians, having been built from the best engine and air frame available but not in a configuration that ever left the factory... :D

    Here is one below, a pair of GTOs being assembled in the same line with a pair of 12 cylinder Testarossas.

    There are other images besides, it happened, just because you never saw one does not mean it didn't happen.

    Perhaps this underscores the notion that sometimes the original manufacturer's proven configuration is the most ideal
