Problem is that the quality of a wrap vs. the original matt paint from Ferrari is night and day. I am not a matt fan (all these wraps look dirty), but after seeing a 812 on the production line in matt dark grey, I was stunned how beautiful it was. Always best to go with your gut I've found. Nothing wrong with replicating a color you've previously found works for you. And, regardless of how good anyone applies a matt finish it will always look drab and lifeless out on the road. You can't fix that.
Nor I. I guess being seen driving around in a vandalised exotic must be (somehow) cool or tough? Must be a personal image thing as it certainly doesn't do anything for the car.
Honestly, I really fo wish Ferrari would significantly scale back the level of customization. I know most likely don’t agree with me but some of these liveries are out of control. I also know that customization and Taylor Made is only growing. I think this will hurt the Ferrari brand in the long run, particularly with the premium cars. Like with cars in previous generations, options and color choices should have broad appeal so the cars remain desirable for decades to come. I do like that they limited choices on the LaFerrari Aperta. Again, I recognize that I’m in the minority.
I appreciate that standpoint, actually. But if you want to put a positive light on some of the funky specifications out there, they make the cars more affordable on the used market. I really would buy a yellow FF with a red interior if the price was right. lol
Well, that’s true. Also, there are fewer traditional liveries on newer cars today. Im certain they will be the desired cars in the future.
I was on the same path but settled on the launch spec in Argento Nurburgring with Blu America stripes. My Speciale is RC so I wanted some variety (although my 812 is in Grigio Titanio).
Perso i still prefer black or titanium wheels on the red one...i am quite puzzled for the carbon one...the silvers are a little bit too shiny for me.
Too much going on there. IMO less is more on that car. Pista I think looks good with the right stripe.
The more photos I see of the Pista the more I think stripeless. The car just has so much going on. I just want the purity of the lines to speak. But, I respect why people stripes. The car in your pic is a Speciale, and agree in certain colours it looks really nice without a stripe. IMHO the Pista needs a stripe because it accentuates the S-duct which otherwise would be invisible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As for the stripe and S duct view point, I really want to see how I react when I see the Pista in person first. You may be right but that hood and S duct are so aggressive, I can’t imagine that it would just go overlooked without a stripe when viewing the car in person. Can’t wait to find out in a few weeks. Regardless, the whole stripe thing isn’t my taste, but I get it.
I was inspired by the Ford GT large stripes and made a photoshop ...
