Well if they own ferraris, they have the luxury of using them as daily drivers, no? Wouldn't the luxury be to not HAVE to use them as daily cars? Or were you referring to the weather in his location?
You guys need to learn to bond with your car. Get a drink, grab a cigar and go out in the garage and have a real man to car chat. My car told me straight up, it hates parking lots, and around town traffic. Traffic lights in rush hour traffic piss it off. It loves the back roads, long stretches with no traffic ....... says it breathes better out there. It loves sharp curves in 2 nd gear, loves the gas pedal slammed to the floor coming out of a corner. I can actually hear my car singing to me, cruising the back roads at speed with no other cars around
In before I could say it! Of you own a Ferrari, you have the "luxury"...you just choose not to use it. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
This is craziness.....................Either comply or get insurance that lets you use your car...........................
Ya know....I did just that! Being a Ferrari, my Testarossa was quite subtle and just asked that I wear no socks. My Lamborghini...geez, such an attention whore wants hookers and blow. While I do my groceries at Wal-Mart, I had to make a trade off bargain to parking in front of nite clubs allowing only girlies in high heels and prettay dresses inside....I tell ya! Grocery getter lol Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Hagerty never had those kind of restrictions. Like someone else mentioned, getting "classic" tags for my car in WA state the wording was much more strict and basically said not for every day use. I can't imagine a time when a cop or the state would try to prove you were using it for daily use though.
state farm wrote a check for over 10K no questions asked when we had an issue at a target parking lot. nothing wrong with stopping somewhere to grab your sweetie a card and some chocolate when you're out. just read the actual clauses, not what an agent says they say. If they phrase their limited mileage issues poorly in your advantage, fine. If they phrase them in their advantage then change companies.
Agreed value Collector Car Policy in PA underwritten by AIG. I signed no waivers, and heard of no restrictions. Matt
wow that is crazy I mean i guess it makes sense I suppose you would have to decide whether to pay the extra for a better policy for your needs or just set some money aside to offset the risk if not covered...
Try Heacock Classic Insurance. They allow 'occasional pleasure' use that includes leisure/pleasure drives that are not associated with a show or exhibition. Further I have waivers that allow occasional drives to work. You can also set a mileage limit, which will influence premium. I have 6000/yr on the 360 so obviously I'm doing much more driving than to shows and exhibitions. The 12mo premium on the 308 is only $348 for agreed value of $65k, but with a mileage limit of 1000.
And I pay about $1,250.00 yearly. I still don not understand why people spend a fortune on a car, but then become stingy when it comes to insurance.......
USE: 1. My vehicle(s) will be used on a limited basis consistent with the operation of a collectible vehicle such as occasional pleasure drives and club/hobby activities. 2. My vehicle(s) will not be used frequently for regular driving to and from work or school, shopping, errands, general transportation, or back-up use.
There’s a big disparity between “you absolutely can’t stop at ________” and “it’s OK to occasionally stop, but not frequently stop at _________”. The title to this thread is completely inaccurate. Matt
Matt, This is verbatim, what the agent told me (title) and used WalMart as an example. I'm not going to sweat it, but I believe he has to say his "spiel" to cover his bases. I'm going with Hagerty until my son turns 25...then Grundy, which is 1/2 the price for same coverage.
