At todays car show. Was nice to get it out and blow the carbon out. First time I got to drive her in 4 months, now that my broken left ankle has healed. :)

Ive been thinking about pulling out my cooling fans and doing the upgrade. Issue is, Ive driven my Countach out in AZ in temps around 107, and it was fine, unless you start going uphill for awhile with the a/c on, then the temp starts to creep up.

To What cooling upgrade do you refer?

Something to consider is converting to Evans waterless coolant. Many benefits, besides never having to change it again & corrosion resistant (think head gaskets). I think this is a good upgrade, especially if your in a hot climate.

    John,

I believe Allan is referring to the cooling fan upgrade that several of us have performed. Here is a post I wrote up on the other site after I did mine. It still uses SPAL fans, just a more modern unit that draws less amperage and moves more air.

Very useful info, i will innstall my original fans as they came out, this time around,my car really cools ok in my enviroment, i would probably uppgrade to this if i ever do a total restoration, the lower amp draw is probably a bigger thing,if driving the car at night,in a hot place, with all systems go,lights ,ac,radio dash fan and so on, makes life easyer on the Alternator.

If I were you, Id do the swap now since you have them out. The fans are inexpensive and bolt right in like the stock fans. Car runs cooler=more power. Never know when you will run into one of those pesky Downdrafts you have to school.

A friend of mine buit a replica back in 1990 with a jag v12 and fitted two fans like shown above and it still overheated until he removed the puller fan,and then the temp became normal. I read later it's not advised to run a fan each side as they are never in sync and so end up fighting each other it resolved his issues by removing the puller unit and never had any more issues.
