Obviously, the 1965-2001 configuration was the fastest and remains my favourite. But I am not sure the 3 chicanes always existed on this layout. I think they were introduced progressively. The Clark chicane near where the Scot died; the Ost chicane after Depailler's fatal crash. I have no idea about the Senna chicane. All that is gone now, after the FIA got scared of the speed reached on the old circuit. Such a shame ...
What few people know is that Senna's biggest crash of his years in F1 was during an F1 test at Hockenheim, not sure if it was before or after the Clark chicane but it was on that portion, deep in the woods, he had a failure of some sort and barrel rolled end over end at high speed. He was only shaken. The only one who saw it apart of marshals was de Cesaris following him on track. His final accident at Imola was nothing in comparison if it weren't for that suspension part reaching his helmet he would have walked right out but we don't want to talk about that. This one at Hockenheim is very comparable to the one Michael Andretti had in Champcar at Mid Ohio, very spectacular but no actual major impact. The old Hockenheim bears a very sad memory: that is where my hero in those days Didier Pironi had his career end, the humidity too high between the trees hiding slow driving Prost from his view as he overtook another car and he took off over him with disastrous results....I had just gotten my driver's licence the day before and was all set to celebrate it..but no... In the earliest configurations the pointy bit at the bottom of the layout is when the circuit went into the eponymous city but when they built the Autobahn the course had to have that part deleted.

Yep, massive contract for Hamilton widely announced, making him the highest paid F1 driver in history. And some people had speculated on his retirement at the end of this year !!!! LOL
Now the question is, will Mercedes sign Bottas. If so, Ricciardo stays with RedBull or we wait for Ferrari to re-sign Kimi. If not, Ricciardo could go to Ferrari.
Wait for the pixie dust to settle. Forbes is providing the number but I think that was being bandied about for a 3 year deal.
Mercedes will probably sign Bottas for 1/3 or 1/4 of Lewis's deal, leaving Ricciardo with a "take it or leave it" offer from Red Bull.
Ricciardo and Leclerc are the two drivers I wouldn't mind seeing at Ferrari. Leclerc still a bit green, but Ricci seems to be entering his prime.
