Great to hear. I know how it feels to get your car working properly after such a long time.

I'm still curious to know what those codes are. Perhaps it's just the type of scanner being used. Did the scanner offer a choice of vehicle manufacturer?

Happy that you found the problem, sad that somene you payed would make a mistake like that.

Now go enjoy your car which will never fall flat on power above 5000 if running correctly.

Thanks guys! I have to say that the car is now faster than I expected it to be. its insane beyond 6500. Sound is mindblowing.
Perhaps now that I see true full throttle the bypass valve is agin operational!

btw does your 5.2 car make that humming noise from the idle regulator when ign on, car not running? Mine makes humming noise and also get warm. ..?

I was wondering what that humming sound was. I don't know if it's normal, but my idle speed regulator makes the same sound. It's surprisingly loud.

For those who don't know where it is, it's just forward of and slightly below the "Y" intake duct. On modern cars, when the car is at idle, the throttle butterflies are closed (or close thereto). This device allows air to bypass the throttle butterflies to keep the engine running. The flow of air is adjusted by the idle regulator to compensate for various loads and conditions, such as having the aircon running. Some cars may have additional mechanisms to let more air through (e.g. my old Lotus Esprit SE had a throttle jacking system to open up the butterflies a little to keep the idle high when warming up the cat. It also had an idle speed regulator, or "idle air controller" (IAC)).

Not that I'm looking for trouble, but I'll ask my local Ferrari tech about it next time I see him, Mats. I see Ricambi is showing the part as no longer available, but I believe Porsche and Fiat use the same Bosch part number for the idle control valve/regulator: P/N 0280140543.

    Ferrari P/N 162406
    Fiat P/N 500359005
    Porsche P/N 99360616000
    IVECO (?) 500359005

Thanks! At least the car works great, but another mechanic where I usually take my cars had never came across this noise regulator, hehe.

You can also hear it when you turn off the engine, then it "hums" for a few seconds before it becomes fully quiet.
ALso yous turning ign on and off again you also hear it.

    but what a car!

Mats... This won't be much consolation considering your recent overheating problems, but I confirmed with my Ferrari tech. that the idle regulator does hum. He says it's usually more noticeable on the 2.7 cars.. because they have two (one on each side of the engine).

thanks! good to know its in order.

I have found the error in the cooling system ! I drained it once more, took out the thermostat and grabbed my inspection camera, looked at the impeller at the same time as a friend cranked the engine. OMG! As it was moving I was able to have a good look at it. The impeller is shattered.
No wonder circulation was not existent. secondly it will be debris in the radiators so they must come out and get cleaned...

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions everyone! :) :)
