I'm taking my parents for brunch at a diner restaurant. I'll probably have a clubhouse with Caesar salad instead of fries.

Is Panda Express as crowded up there as it is here? Especially with what I would guess is a lot of good mom and pop Asian restaurants. There is a Panda Express near by on a main thoroughfare leading up to the interstate, and it seems like every time we drive by around dinner time, the parking lot is full and the drive-through line had at least 4 or 5 cars...T

Its fairly busy all day. It keeps the food fresh. Both the locations I go are in small towns. So the competition is low for Asian food. In my town or Vancouver it probably wouldn't work. Too much competition. Richmond neighboring Vancouver is 60% Asian by population. Over 50% is Chinese. The city is like one giant China town.

Burger from a local hamburger joint. Eating it, my daughter was scheming as to how we could visit Texas again for her to get another In-N-Out burger. I told her if they would ever build the one in Houston, that would only be a 7 hour drive instead of 10 hours to Dallas! :(

I have a meeting with an accountant. His office is around the corner from a Japanese restaurant. Too compete most Japanese places here offer an all you can eat menu option. Since its made to order, it can be fairly decent rolls and sushi. Plan is too fill up on the all you can eat. Maybe skip dinner.

I ended up at the French bistro near my house. Had a beef dip and poutine. I'm stuffed. Was going to go to Eastern Washington, but too full and tired. So I'll go tomorrow.

I feel like pizza. There is a Canadian chain called Panago. The location near my house is owned and operated by the founding family. I think they do franchisee training there. The ingredients are always fresher there. I'll probably have a small beef taco pizza.

Tried another local BBQ joint. I was so excited!
    It sucked.

They ruined everything except the collards.
    Pork dry
Beef junks of fat and gristle
    Everything too vinegary
Mac n cheese runny and no flavour.
    Biscuits dry no crunch.
Slaw tasted like Italian salad dressing from a jar.

I’m gonna have to get me a smoker seeing the closest ‘que place that’s good is a 2 hour drive.

How can Canadians consistently screw up BBQ? It’s so frustrating.

I didn’t know what poutine was until I went up to Montreal. I found myself in the middle of a farmers market with a cup of poutine. For the rest of the week I ordered it every where I went. We had a lobster poutine at one place that was probably one of the best snacks I’ve ever had.

I recommend a Weber bullet smoker. Not expensive and reasonably easy to dial in a scheme that works for you...T

Canadian couple in local Ferrari club claims there are a few places in town to get poutine. Since I'm traveling, this was my lunch.

I like caffeine while flying. It makes me even more jittery when stuff goes awry!

In college I liked to load up on caffeine before class. At least 4 cups of strong coffee.

And up until recently and I don't fly often but I loved getting a strong alcohol buzz before boarding the plane. Then have one more on the plane. I can't do that now. Lol

I had a handful of individually wrapped sour patch kids a few hours ago. Actually more like 3...

Needed a little something more though.
Romain, Rotisserie chicken breast, dolce Gorgonzola, tomato, a few halved grapes, drizzle of honey and some mayo on the top piece of honey wheat toast. With a side of cold sesame noodles.

^I tried that once, many years ago, on a long flight to Brazil. I thought 3 or 4 drinks would get myself to sleep. Alas, I arrived in Rio sleep deprived & hung over. The upside, however, was that Rio is an awesome place to be, regardless of what shape you're in!

LOL. Never been to Rio so I wouldn't know :)

But I can't sleep in public so the drinks has zero affect on me sleeping.
