Maybe he did pay $380,000. I get the impression he is a savvy negotiator :D
then it may be worthwhile saving. Depending on the mileage, a good 360 Spider manual is up to $180k, so this one could be $130-140k car when repaired. As I said in another thread before, there's at least $40k+ worth of parts and labour if repaired by Ferrari authorised shop using new genuine parts. Cheap fix using second hand or aftermarket parts by a no name shop will make this car saleproof.
Aww all of the fun posts with the racist slurs are deleted I will miss our HektikArab. What a swell guy.
Something about someone with a real chip on their shoulder that makes for entertaining threads... Only thing that I do hope is that the car really doesn't have any structural damage that isn't visible that might seriously injure current or subsequent owners in a frontal impact in the future.
Interesting thread. Having an international upbringing I can say there are cultural and language missteps occurring in this thread; bloody funny.
A lot of replies in this thread mentions language barrier. OP lives in an english speaking country... Makes me wonder how my posts are viewed upon.
Non-insulting, non-aggressive, complimentary... pretty good I'd say. Other posters will usually let you know quick how they view your posts.
Starting with the OP Personally, I really couldn't care less about a salvage 360 being put back together. No real mystery there. Now a heavily modified project, perhaps for the track, that I would follow. The OP bought a car that is pretty badly damaged. Hope he fixes it and enjoys it. Probably will cost a small fortune to put it back together-- And once again, spending more than what a decent car would cost not needing major repairs and branded with a salvage title. I'm still always befuddled by this scenario. But of course, with that said, "to each his own".
I love to see people build rebuild car projects. It’s his money... he can manage his finances. I say rebuild it and doc how u do. If you are resourceful you can save $$ This is not the space shuttle.
Update on looney toons from Australia. So today I go to eBay and find Alex has left me 2 negative feedback for the items he bought using a fake US address and I canceled. Of course eBay removed his make believe comments. He’s messaged me like 20 times today telling me how he’s going to use other user names to buy my parts and leave negative feedback, he hopes to get my address from them so he can come beat me up and burn down my house. I’m at a loss, this guy is completely unstable. I don’t have any idea what I did to him other than choosing to not sell him parts after he did some weird stuff. I’m not sure what to do with him. What would be cool is if he can do some donuts in the Ferrari with no front end with a ak47 out the window on you tube lol. 97 spider I think you handled it very well I would report everything to ebay dude is pretty crazy over some parts. I just dont understand why he is burning bridges in fchat usally a great bunch of people. I took some **** when I said I bought the cheapest 360 for $40k euro salvage but everyone has the opinion salvage is not for everyone and I understand but I have gotten good feedback and help from fchat.arab money just dont care he is crazy. Just renewed my membership. Been away for awhile. After reading this thread .... Wow...just wow. Only on Ferrarichat. You guys get more "interesting" characters than any forum I'm on.
My post above came before I read the entire thread. Wow. This guy is certifiably insane. Good luck with that on eBay, Brian...
Wow... I was hoping this would be a good build thread. The main thing is to check the unibody and make sure it is straight. A whack like that is similar to the one I got in the 348. A spider too. The roof and frame will be tweaked and the crumple zones too. My floor was rumpled under the pedal box. Check it! For kicks, watch the F40 rebuild on Fast n Loud. Dennis ends up buying Richard out because he freaks. The frame work alone was over 20K iirc. But now it's a bitchin' lowered Black F40 with bigger turbos. ... that Dennis owns, haha.
Agree w John — wanted to see a cool build, Not too worried about the internet drama. I’m telling dad stuff. This type of build way cooler than look at my stereo and rims threads.
