That is one of the first that pops into my mind. I was thinking the other day that the solos in "Blinded by the Light" are pretty cool...T
Have to put my man Brian here. Was the happiest guy in the world when I finally managed to play this. Short and sweet
I don't like music competition. I think Clapton is amazing but I think this example is far from his best and certainly no match for the epic VH eruption.
Terry Kath, 25 or 6 to 4, saw them play it live early 70's, twice, awesome stuff. This guy could really play.
Steve Vai - Here he plays both sides of duel - messes up on purpose and still great... and here without the movie visuals...
This epic cut at the height of their career sends chills throughout my entire body ! Watch the video in its entirety out of reverence for what was.
Ten Years After "I'm going Home" at woodstock in 1969. At about 3:55 he will take your spine out through your face.
Just about any live version of "Steppin Out" with Clapton showing that he was god get in at 6m or 7m in and just listen to him rip
Saw Clapton Sat. night at MSG. He was fantastic, but Doyle Bramhall did some of the known solos like on "White Room". It was a Great show and Clapton played unbelivable for a guy 73. Okay back to best solo. For me it would be Hendrix (Band of Gypsies)in 1969 on New Years Eve at the Fillmore playing "Machine Gun". Wished I was there.
Don't know, what's the best, but this is one of my favourite. Neil Young at the 'Bob Dylan Tribute Concert 1993' playing All along the Watchtower.
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Riviera paradise But the best player is Francisco Gustavo Sánchez Gómez, or if you prefer : Paco de Lucía
