I've seen this car at FOA when it was in for it's last service. Gorgeous car, great spec. If this car is somehow still available this summer it will be mine. Glws!

This car is now up for auction on Bring A Trailer:

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-360-modena-4/

Quick reminder, since I posted this up for sale a lot of nice things have been done to the car. It just received it's major service, remaining sticky items were destickied (air vents and steering column cover), and a small oil leak was discovered in a tricky spot that required pretty extensive disassembly to repair was fixed. The car is now in premium condition and ready for its next owner with no stories and no excuses.

    Happy bidding everyone!

    Hi everyone,

I've put together a short video of the car for anyone interested in seeing more of the car, hearing the engine and amazing exhaust, etc. You can find it here on YouTube:

    Thanks!

It’s an auction, with a reserve. If the auction doesn’t hit the reserve, it won’t sell. And nope, I’m not letting it go cheap :)

    How so?

    That’s MAX.

Compare to going to auction and buying or selling a car. 10% is the low buyers and sellers fee = 20% for the House...

it is 10% capped at 100k, very reasonable vs any other form of selling (other auctions that charge buyer AND seller 10% or a consignment dealer fee)

So the buyer pays just under $96k for the car after fees?

It sold for $91,000. That is much lower than I was shooting for, as I have about $130k in the car. But with the BaT buyer's fee the buyer is paying $96,000, plus shipping etc. The buyer is getting a HECK of a deal, as this car is super well sorted.

Did BAT ever ask you to lower the reserve/ have the reserve lower than you wanted? I've heard that sometimes they won't even post ads unless it's a no reserve auction.

Is this a true indication of a softer market? I don’t really follow the value of 360’s but I’m surprised at how low this sold for. I don’t think you can ask for a nicer example and this is a ton of car for the money.
If it’s a soft market, why? Sure, the stock market is up, blah blah, but these aren’t investments I thought. If they aren’t investments and people are making money in the market, shouldn’t they have additional disposable income, thus propelling the Ferrari market higher? Is it a demographic thing? I don’t get it.

BaT originally asked me to set the reserve much lower than I wanted. I refused, and then eventually they emailed me back and said "Ok we'll take it for that reserve."

I lowered the reserve at the last minute, as I really needed to make room in my garage. Leaving a brand new Dodge Demon outside was starting to get to me :)

As much as I hate to admit it, the market is soft. I bought this car for about $90k and put $30k in fixing it up. The car has been for sale for a year and a half, and I couldn't even get a bite at $100k. Wish I could hold onto it for a few more years, as I'm sure I will be kicking myself when these are going for $200k plus. The new buyer got a heck of a deal.
