I wouldn’t change Seb for anyone who’s been on the grid since Schumacher and he’s won ROC every of the 8 years he’s taken part. Not fast?

Yes, he certainly won 4 WDC because he is "not fast"...
It is funny how people complain if someone does not agree that Lewis it GOAT and then they come around with something like this... ;)

This occurred to me as well with Maldonado as #2 or Kyvat "the Torpedo". Throw Max into the mix at the front of the grid and Lap 1 would be wild.

Max, eventually, when he has grown up.
Elton? Never! It would be a very big commercial mistake. No Ferrari-driver/lover/buyer wants to be associated with this piece of idiot.

After all that was said, Lewis is still leading championship in a slower car.

Lewis never wanted to be associated with Ferrari, he grow up as a Senna fan, wanted to be with Mclaren as Senna did. He probably couldn't care less about driving for Ferrari

I thought Seb at Ferrari was a mistake for the start. Don't like him as a personality. Don't like his driving style. Don't like his attitude. Keep Kimi and bring Rosberg out of retirement. Love to see Nico in a Ferrari.

Elton in a Merc and Nico in a Ferrair. It would be like Senna vs Prost all over again.

Remember, his first win was a brilliant one for Toro Rosso at Monza.....in the rain.

Breakdowns don't happen by chance; there is a logical explanation for mechanical failure as any engineer could tell you.
Metal fatigue, incomplete heat treatment, undetected crack, design fault, wrong machining, excessive heat, faulty bonding, misuse, component beyond its lifespan, etc... are often the conclusions coming during post-morten after a breakdown.
Oil on the track is just somebody else mechanical failure.

And you think it has nothing to do with luck whether your car breaks 100 m before or after the chequered flag?

Colin Chapman was often accused of building fragile cars. But his philosophy was that the car only had to be strong enough to make it to the finish line; if it broke immediately after that was fine. That was why his Lotuses tended to be lighter than the other cars.

How would you possibly know??? Did you talk to him lately?
If he wants to go to McLaren because his heart is there maybe he should swap with Alonso... I am sure Fred would be in that deal ;)

But still, ex teammates with a bit of animosity and history between them. I'd love to see Nico in a Ferrari. After all, Keke drove for Ferrari. Not in F1, but still Ferrari. Like father, like son?

It always adds extra credence to your point whenever Nuff is quoted.

If Nuff said it, it's gospel!

Here's a rare photo of Mr. Nuff. His full name is Gian Luigi Alfredino Giuseppe e Maria Nuffio, the archbishop of Spezzano di Fiorano.
But, among friends, he simply likes to be called "Nuff". He's a righteous dude . . . .

When he speaks, people listen. He is, unofficially, the most quoted man on earth IMO.

They also didn't make it to the finishing line very often!
Chapman cars were light but fragile, to the point of being lethal in some cases.
Even a man with big cojones like Mario Andretti started to have concern about his own mortality if he kept driving them!

It's this perception which kept me away from Lotus road cars. Fun and fast they might be, but when you compared them to same vintage Ferrari the Modena machines were vastly over-engineered and heavy.

As attractive as they were, the Lotus road cars carried a reputation of unreliability under Chapman, and many components looked flimsy.
I remember going to see a Lotus Elan in the 60s, in view to purchase it. They were hot on the road, with impecable handling.
The friend who came with me was horrified by the small size of the drive shafts; about half the diameter than his MGB that had roughly the same power.
    I didn't buy the car .
