Hello fellow F-Chat members. I just bought my first Ferrari. It's a 95 355 GTB Black on black, 14,000 miles. It was the one listed in the classified section in Miami. I'm scheduling shipping this week and will have the car in my garage very soon. I look forward to learning more about these wonderful automobiles.

The car will need a major soon and will be replacing the headers, secondary cat bypass and muffler. The car already has Fabspeed sport cats on it.

I will post pictures shortly. View attachment 2580642 View attachment 2580643 View attachment 2580644 View attachment 2580645 View attachment 2580646 View attachment 2580647

Thank you. I tried uploading photos, but for some reason they aren't loading. What am I doing wrong?

FWIW, I agree with your philosophy in buying a 355 in need of a major. This way you can be sure it is done properly, that no corners were cut by a potential seller. I'm sure you have read/heard that these cars are NOT maintenance hogs once they are sorted.

I was able to drive my car about 1 1/2 years before the service was called for, and one mistake I made was changing the battery myself prior to the service. It is not super difficult, but it is awkward, and I thought I had fastened it securely, but I hadn't. It is rather difficult to start a car with the battery disconnected, and no way to reconnect. Your mech can explain the situation to you.

I agree, but our opinion is definitely in the minority. I'd rather have complete control over selecting what work is done and by whom. I think some may view it as a cost cutting measure, but I'd rather have $70-80k in a car from a shop I trust (and can go back to) than a stack of receipts

So I finally had a chance to drive my 355. After so much rain last week here in GA and being out of town, I took it for a 20 mile ride to get the emissions test done. It was 90 degrees outside, but the AC worked great and the car never got above 190. You sure can hear those fans behind you when they kick on. It's a pretty easy car to drive. Power steering works well and the clutch, although a bit stiff pedal, it engages smoothly. It's the original clutch, no slippage at all. Hope I can get a few thousand more miles out of it. I really look forward to driving it this fall, when the humidity breaks and can be driven with the windows down.

Where in GA? Or have I asked you this already? GA people seem to be sprouting up more and more.
