This once great team seems on the brink They are the worst team on the grid this year, even with the Merc PU They have probably the worst 2 drivers on the grid They have lost their title sponsor for next year They are losing their best paid driver in Stroll who for the rest of this year has no incentive to drive better to try to get the team some points I don't see how they survive without some major group coming in. Or, heaven forbid, they just fade away and someone buys the assets.
Yeah. No harm no foul. Just that she’s had her time and here we are. Still don’t get them passing over her brother. I guess he and dad don’t get on well.
Mercedes takes them as a B-team OR they get another paid driver but one who races and not just drives an F1 car.
Maybe Frank needs to go back to the Saudi interests that got him going in 1977 and see if they'd be interested in doing it again. Remember that there are now two GPs in the Gulf region that didn't exist back then. If not Saudi, then maybe other interests in that part of the world.
I don't know enough about the Williams siblings to form an opinion, but there must have been good reasons why Frank Williams passed on the management to his daughter rather than his son. I really don't see why a woman couldn't do just as well as a man in a managerial poistion. There are plenty of women CEO, captains of industry, etc... It's a matter of business education, managerial skills, knowing the environment, etc... Claire Williams was involved in the team for several years in a different capacity, but I had never heard about her brother.
I would prefer a swift end, with the team being disbanded and the assets sold, rather than see a long agony like the Tyrrell or Brabham teams.
William. Your politically correct sensibilities are unequaled. I say what I said not because she is a woman but because the two sons are older. She is the youngest. I watched the Williams documentary and it seemed to imply the one son, who works in the Williams archives or something like that was bitter that he was passed over. It seems he doesn’t get along great with Frank.
Not getting along with the founder of a company seems to me a good reason to be passed over during the succession !! I am no fan of Frank Williams, but I think he is entitled to prefer one child over another one to succeed him; it's a family matter.
If I was his son, and he passed me over, I’d have nicked his wheelchair and trashed it! Hehehehehehe We had a teacher at school with a wooden leg, and he was ****ing horrible to us. Last day of school came, we held him down and nicked his leg, pushed him down some stairs, and went and used it as a goal post
Not yet. They finished last year with 5MM Euro in the bank. No sponsor after this season, no big pay driver, no big points money. Next year is going to be pretty slim pickings for them.
Mother of God, where did you study: Alcatraz? Back to topic, Williams now is little more than an empty shell, so I suppose that Sir Frank will have to sell part of the team to get some funding. The question is if the Williams family will be able to keep the control or will be ousted by the new investors, like happended with the old guard of McLaren when it was merged with Ron Dennis´Project 4.
When you think that Frank Williams refused the chance to become a factory team once; he must regret it now.
I wish, that wouldve been too funny. A kid there was always the Butt of our jokes...course, now I’m thinking I was a bully..... but we used to regularly nail his school bag to the woodwork desk, or glue all his pencil case up, just for kicks..... I was such an evil Sidney!
Why??? Kubica is old news!!! I do not know why you are obsessed with the Pole while saying Seb and Kimi are through their sell date...does not make sense at all...It is 7 (!!!) years since he drove his last GP.
