Help me out, please, what does FOB stand for ? Last week, I had some problem getting the front trunk (always) open …. That often is a sign of a bad car battery on the 458. Just to be sure, I got my spare key: and: no problem at all anymore. So, obvious, the two little batteries CR1220 were used two full seasons and needed now repacement. I decided to continue this year with car key # 2 .. why not. Lesson: do you have 2 spare batteries or a second key with you if things go wrong ? Easy to install, penknife under the horse and the two batteries kan be excahanged. Did YOU have to replace them ever ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mel, It's not an acronym; it's actually an old-fashioned term from when we used to carry pocket watches; the watch was attached to your belt-loop via a watch fob. Never had a problem in the 458 but once did in the 360, which led me to: - replace the batteries yearly - carry a spare fob You prompted me to change the ones in the 458 tomorrow; thanks!!
Thanx Vince ! Clear … But imo it cannot be true that only YOU do exchange your fob batteries on a regular basis … Who else had a (possibly bad) experience with the batteries in the car key ?
Each fob has 2 batteries. Here is someone else with a bad experience: be careful when you change your batteries! https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/immobilizer-malfunction-458-italia.371181/
