F355’s... like a schizophrenic supermodel that you just can’t stay away from. She’s too hot and fun until the crazy strikes.

I knew that would happen as soon as he DIY'd a hose that was loose right in the V of the engine. Guarantee that's what caught fire.

Ok how did his maintenance of the coolant hose on the tranny cooler cause it to burst into flames months later?

He also didn't DIY his coolant fix that big bearded guy is his mechanic and the mechanic did the work.

Speculation is just silly in my opinion.

DIY clamp cut through fuel line?
Pretty irresponsible of him to say it "exploded". Clickbait dishonesty.

Guess his "Wizard" of a mechanic is not as magical as advertised.

Maybe an air-to-surface missile hit the car. That happened to my 550 a few years ago while it was parked outside the service shop...

Man, that's a shame. Wonder if it had fuel leak issues. Maybe an overpressurized gas tank like you sometimes hear about on this forum?

In an early episode for this car, Hoovie talked about the prior owner having a bunch of issues getting the car to run right. Bet that prior owner will be high-fiving himself when he founds out about dodging this bullet.

Pretty sad. He loved that car and it was neat watching his ownership time with it.

Doubt fuel line was cut by hose clamp. I am sure it is possible, but I am thinking something else. Sucks for sure.

I thought recall was for fuel
lines at fuel distributor. I have seen two recalls but was not aware of the issue in the V of the engine. Anyone have any pics? I have documentation on my car of recalls being done. Better double check.

Someone mentioned in the comments of his video 5 months ago it wasn't done. (Was it done since, I don't know)

No it wasn’t, if you look at phrogs post #19 above that is the report ran on this cars VIN number showing as far as the factory knows the recall has not been completed.

Yes, to put in a different design fuel block to move the fuel lines away from the clamps. Read the recall explanation in phrogs post #19 above. These clamps are exactly what the “wizard” was working on and quite possibly didn’t know the risk.
I believe there is also one out there warming of over tightening the fuel AN fittings and cracking them causing leaks and fire.

    +1

Looking at videos of his engine, the fuel block forward of the engine seems too low to have been modified. I haven't had my car done yet, but my Ferrari tech has made sure that the hose clamps are positioned correctly and not rubbing. I've also seen photos of the modification done badly, so I'm not in a hurry to update mine.

Would the insurance company not pay up if they knew he was aware of the recall?
