RE-11s are great. They stick well and have predictable breakaway at the limit. The downside is they’re a bit heavy, and they’re no longer available. If you run OEM sizes, it’s hard to find a top tier modern tire. The acclaimed MP4S is not available in OEM sizes, for example. If you do Oliver’s wheel upgrade, you can choose top tier rubber. At least on my car, extreme suspension compression like you experience on the track will cause tire interference with the top inside of the front fenders, even with OEM wheels and tire sizes, though not since having had the fenders rolled. As a result, I’m very wary of putting anything wider or bigger up front. The RE-11s are very blocky and square, and look wider than the specified size, so it’s entirely possible my fender clearance issue was due to the design profile of the tires. I'll post some pictures later, but I figured another description of how the car drives might be helpful to folks. I chose MPS4 tires to go on the wheels, and finally had the package installed on the car today. The car is much more nimble and stable with the new wheels. Steering feels much better, and the overall the car seems to even deal with rough roads better. I suspect this might have something to do with the suspension working better due to the lower weight. These wheels vastly improve the driving experience. I have to wait a few days before I can take the car to the track, but from some spirited driving today, these are the new must have performance feature for 360s. I am astonished by how good the car feels. Thank you Oliver!
My car is euro spec 1999, dreaded ABS/ASR issue kicking in randomly with CS size tires... 225/35/19 up front 285/35/19 out back Should have read more, I figured I'd be safe with OEM challenge size tires...wrong These create a 6.7% imbalance between the front and rear and cuases either the ABS or ASR to kick in, I assume it's the asr? Car will start lurching randomly while accelerating. Bummer, the RE71R weren't cheap!
I have the same tire sizes on 19" wheels but are MP4S and I have no ABS/ASR issues. Maybe the sidewall of the RE71R are "larger"?
I have some issues as well on my 2000 model year car. I can’t say that I really like how it’s been driving. On soft slow speed braking everything is fine. On a more firm braking I get slight ABS pulsing feedback. One time on an aggressive turn in I had ABS pulsing and resistance and felt like the brakes would “ice” but I was able to press through it. Regardless, it wasn’t a good feeling. As far as lurching, can you explain what you’re experiencing? On a medium acceleration I feel a slight pull to the right and when I get out of it the car will swing back to the left. I also ran the 225 up front and 285 in the rear. Oh wow that sounds horrible.... Sounds like options for us early model owners is: buy a newer model or CS ECU or buy larger front or smaller rear tires. Did you try turning off the ASR and putting in sport mode? That's what I've been doing and so far has been working (fingers crossed till the tires wear out!) Mine cuts out/lurches during moderate acceleration occassionally, I assume its the ASR. No issues with braking...yet! (bites fingernails)
Mine is a 99 model, I had 430 wheels and now Oliver’s CS wheels. Never had issues with the 430 using Conti tyres same sizes as you. Put the CS wheels on same conti tyres now issues
My 2000, same thing, asr comes on early in non sport. I have true Scud wheels, with a 8" up front and running 235-285, it is my belief and calculations show that a 245-285 more closely matches stock sizes, 245-285 is my next tire sizes for me. Now a 245 is max recommended for a 8" rim, if you have a 7.5" rim, you could try a 235.....

I've just completed a few hours of driving. No issues at all. I have a '99 with MPS4 and the new wheels. Car feels new. It is incredible.
