Some of the early cars have aged not so well to my eyes. 1952 212 Inter, sort of a weird car, not ugly, but not what I think most people think of as a 50s Ferrari Image Unavailable, Please Login 1954 375 America, also just odd looking to my eyes Image Unavailable, Please Login Some of my favorites 250 MM, just gorgeous Image Unavailable, Please Login My favorite is the Series I PF Cab, no bad angles on that car at all, I even like the bumperettes Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't even consider anything before the Daytona and GTC/4 2+2, because those are the first Ferraris I fell in love with. Anything older is vintage to me. I appreciate the classics, and some of the designs are sublime (But many I find awkward too), but I'm personally not interested in the vintage cars, except as curiosities. I've always thought 212's were cute.
Youre probably correct that people separate the older cars in to a different mental category, I just like the SI PF Cab and so when someone says best looking F car that's where my brain goes, after that the rest of my post was just part of the journey. Of the modern cars, I think the 550 is a beautiful car that has aged very well and will continue to be more and more appreciated.
I have had the very unusual opportunity this week to see some very amzing cars on the road... today while in slow traffic had followed a 430 scudand an F40 for a few minutes, And as much as i like the F40 in a real world traffic condition the Scud looked so much better from this angle it looked better in design and in quality.....
I love ice cream. I don't spend a lot of time deciding on which are the better flavors. I just love ice cream. My love of Ferraris is similar.
Monterey is a hoot. I remember being at the suite hotel in Oceanside when a 250 SWB roared up. The driver jumped out and ran inside. Several minutes later, he ran back out to the car and zoomed back to the track. Only in Monterey. Jim Morrison The soft parade has now begun Listen to the engines hum. People out to have some fun. Cobra on my left, leopard on my right, yeah. Deer woman in a silk dress, girls with beads around their necks kiss the hunter of the green vest. Who has wrestled before with lions inside the night out of sight?
Love them or hate them, the two most iconic Ferrari cars of all time will always be.... RED 308 GTS Image Unavailable, Please Login WHITE TESTAROSSA Image Unavailable, Please Login
It’s so funny. I’m exactly the opposite 308/328/288/TR were always to me the true pininfarina ferraris. The ones dreams are made of - hanging on the wall and burago 1:18 models To me the 360 was always the brash, new money/footballer type ferrari - as where I grew up, that’s what you would see So funny and refreshing to read the different perspectives Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The 360 Modena and 360 Spider were the first truly modern Ferraris. The all-aluminum coachwork, although mimicking the Acura/Honda NSX, was a Ferrari breakthrough.
Ok... I can say this because I owned a 246 Dino Gt for 15 years so I can get a pass before getting burned. It is NOT the most beautiful car ever -- particularly the GTS. It's kinda frog like looking and some of the proportions look a bit odd. There are other cars that are better looking. I always thought the 206 GT looked better. There! Personally I have always loved the 275 series and the 330 series of cars.
612, hated it when it came out. WTF Ferrari? Suddenly it hit me a few years ago, enough to actually buy one. If you don’t get it, wait a bit longer. It will come. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Im biased but this is just perfection to me, the 550/575 maranello design is the best combination of old and new to me. View attachment 2591896
They all have their attributes and appeal to each of us differently. The joy is that there is something for everyone. So “best” is a personal issue. For me, liking big coupes with big front engines, the 612 floats my boat and I get compliments wherever I go. I know others have said “worst” and that proves the point. The ONLY thing I don't like about Maranellos, and I used to own one, is the front valence and air scopes. I would have prefered they cleaned that up.
but compared to a 599,f12, or 812 which front engine V12 would you prefer? From a driving standpoint, all are better, but from a looks standpoint? I dont even think its close, the maranellos are just gorgeous
I'm not familiar with the F12 or 812. I gave up following Ferraris when they dropped manual transmissions, purely personal preference. Yes, a F550 looks a lot better than a F599. After driving both, I wouldn't say the F599 is a better driving car than the F550, again purely personal choice.
Fiat made a HUGE mistake when they brought out that monstrosity rebodied Miata and called it a 124 spider. They put it next to the original one from 1972. It made the Fiata look WORSE. The Fiat 124 is a pretty car, even with the funky wings at the back (which I never understood) and the ugly glued on tailights.
