Good idea. $400 price seems a little expensive for as little use as it will get.

Was thinking that of course, but for a shop it makes sense. I need to change wheels now and don't want to damage the ears or paint etc.

I own one. Haven't used it, but it seems well made. Bought it to keep in car for emergencies. I've also seen well-worn ones in Patrick Ottis's shop.

Does anyone know where the tool might be available in North America? Buying stuff directly from Germany is a bit of a pain.

David, i use the one you show, it works fine. you will need a long breaker bar to get enough torque. when I go to drive i do the final tightening with the hammer, don't think you can beat the hammer.

You need a good heavy duty torque wrench along with the spinner tool. I have driven close to 10K km last two years with the wheels made up only with the torque wrench, i.e. no hammer.

This looks like a nice tool, but -- and I hate to be picky -- but I have some issues with the "plot" in their video. Specifically, how did Andreas happen to have an Old Timer Tools Knock-off tool just sitting in his Jaguar boot when Michael from Old Timer Tools happened along? Seems like a set up to me :):)

I bought one for my 330 GT 2+2 to avoid using a hammer on the Knock offs. Worked a treat - no damage to knock offs and the handle is more than adequate re tightening tension. Well made, guide expensive, but worth it to protect the knock offs.

I have this one also, been very happy with it. Of course there is the question of torque. Pretty sure the number is 325 ft lbs. Of course how important is that number when you're just supposed to tighten it by whacking it with a lead hammer?
