Rather than use a pallet jack, I just bolted the 2x4 sections together, then attached little steel wheels to the bottom. Remove the rear wheels, then lower the rear of the car with a floor jack onto the stand. Disconnect everything, then lift the rear of the chassis with a bottle jack on either side. The power unit then just rolls out, and can be rolled around the shop as needed.

The engine does not know, but you do. There are the 12 hard to get to bolts on the front, and I needed 3 jacks to tweak the engine in just the right position to get those bolts in. Having just one pallet jack is difficult.

See that last picture when the engine is supported by one 4x4 piece of wood? That is iffy.

Speaking of which we got 11 of those 12 back in easily, but one was an SOB that took about 10-15 minutes to finally catch

Lol , I am not crazy.
That was used to push up the frame so the last bolt went in smooth.
All the other bolts were "in"

Easiest would have been a "high lift" pallet jack. But i had only this one. Took some more time but went fine.

That's how I get the motor out of my 911 - much better to lift the car off the motor than lift the whole car and drop the motor on a jack - much less risk.

Of course, I'd love a proper lift...
