82C is the factory setting so I thought the mentioned thermostat is a good cheap replacement. I wouldn't try to correct the mixture (the rich running) by increasing the engine operating temp as the cause is not there. I would look at the coolant temp sensors, oxygen sensors and the MAF sensors.

I did a research on thermostats for the 348 and compiled the following.

It appears that the factory thermostat is Behr (Behr Italia actually) but I bought Wahler 4033.82. It looks superior quality and seems to be still available from onlinecarparts.co.uk (no more from Amazon). Seems that this (not common) size of thermostat is becoming obsolete. The pictures below show the Wahler I bought and the Behr I earlier got from a Ferrari parts supplier.

    Hello
The gates fro Fiat X1/9 is not good..I tested on mine. The car is overheating, the radiators stay colds even after air flushing.

    So:
The thermostat Gates for fiat X1/9 looks same but it is not !
The manual say it must be 32.5mm at 20° ok same
It say too 44.5mm total lenght at 90° and the gates is 40.35 mm only. and it start to open later, not since 75 ° like say the manual.

So the bypass is not closed and the whater pump dont manage to push the whater thrue the 2 ways (radiators and bypass).
    kind regards

I would caution you regarding using a Tridon product. They do not perform as a higher quality thermostat. In the past we were sold Tridon thermostats in our Subaru Service Centers and they provided us with unfavorable results. While we had our "Select Monitor" Subaru factory test equipment connected to several Subaru's in tests, the Tridon thermostat lagged in opening and did not meet the specs programed in our Select Monitor. This was both opening temps as well as coolant flow.

I would personally would not save a few dollars on a cheaper non factory thermostat this is a false economy. Give some consideration of the down stream consequences and the very possible expensive damages as a result. There is a reason why there are aftermarket parts at very different price points, cheaper less expensive parts, cheaper materials.

    just sayin'

    Diameters 56mm 34 mm
    cold lenght 33.12mm
    hot lenght 42.75
    82°

    OE checked
    Diameters 56/32
