Thanks for the feedback Art, I believe the colour is Cobalt Blue. I am open to suggestions for the interior colour.

I had the wheels polished, then I masked off the rims and had the rest blasted and etched primed. Then I ran a thin film of epoxy primer into the joint between the two metals before priming and top coating. Faircharm Restorations did a great job here.

Could anybody help me to identify where these two items are located on the car.
I believe they may go near the left hand side vent but I cannot see any fixing points.
As the project came to me already dismantled I do not have any reference.
If anybody has a photo of them in situ that would be great, I have trawled the interweb to no avail.

I am still trying to find out which switch and warning light goes where.
It can be difficult to get information sometimes.
The user manual at the carnut web site shows an earlier layout with a row of switches under the dash, where mine has a soft covered rail in this position. I also have more warning lights on the top row.

Great coverage of your restoration. Beautiful car! Thanks.
    On my interim '61 3500 #AM101-1512 I have the 4 upper dash lights as follows, left to right;
Left, shines RED when either indicator/turn signal is in function (it blinks with them)
2nd to left, shines BLUE when the high beams are activated
3rd from left, shines white when the headlights are on
Right, shines RED when discharging; generator idiot light.

After viewing your red light down below the glove compartment on the passenger side, I checked my car. I had never noticed that I have a pull out map light there! It's missing the bulb, but it only pulls out the length of the bulb, and must illuminate that area for map reading!

    All the best, RF.

I gave up posting the various stages of this restoration and kept a record just for myself, I have printed this as the full story from start to finish and have a copy to keep with the car. Anyway the car is now finished and I have driven around 800 miles, the teething troubles are about sorted now and I plan on keeping the car long term. In June of this year I drove it to the Maserati Club UK concours at Blenheim palace where it received a joint class win with the fantastic Sebring of Andy Leery and I was delighted to be awarded best in show.

#1292 was originally delivered to Torino and later found its way to the USA.
There it was converted to a Ford engine and a 3-speed transmission. It was offered in May 1984 for sale but with its original motor, asking $5,500. In 1985 it was owned by Anders Bolmstöm in Sweden.

Given what happend to older Maseratis such as this here in the USA I think it's remarkable that the original engine either remained with the car or was later found and that eventually these cars became revered enough to warrant the spectacular restoration it's received.
