    Yep, it’s toaster! Top marks!

Try welsh —. Llantrisant is clan-tri-sant. Llanelli is clan-eth-lee just as two examples - they clearly can’t spell, or can’t read, one or the other!

The lack of apparent vowels in Welsh was always puzzling. There's a neighborhood near Philadelphia called Bala Cynwyd (which was originally settled by Welshmen) that baffled newcomers, and there's still local disagreement on how to pronounce it.

As long as they don’t talk much, they are fine.... that welsh accent is a total anti-aphrodisiac to me..... makes me think of Ruth Madoc every time I hear it

Late reply Korr....it is Alberto, but either way, your phonetic it is fine.

The one that is not, is when people lose the 't' as in 'Albero'. There is a T in there :)
In school, some people used to call me 'Al'.... Wrong, and Albert? I am not English, nor French,
I am of long ago emigrated Basque origins, that came to these S....holes as your Prez, calls them.

Just as if your name is Donald, we would not call you Donaldo...unless you really wanted.
Here, naturally speaking in Spanish, we'd call him 'Donal', as in Duck

    Regards, Alberto

    What's wrong with Al ?

Alfredo Pacino doesn't see anything wrong with being called Al.

Yes, absolutely. Alfredo Pacino is no one, but, Al Pacino is the one and only.

If I were famous you can call me Nancy for what it matters.

    Al? No. :)

    Regards, Alberto

Sorry for being so late Jim...
No, not in that case: as far as I am aware, his name has always been pronounced entirely, that is "Prost". And that's the way he prounonciate it also.
Final letters might sometimes be mute in french, such as in "Albert" = the french do not pronounciate the final "t", so "alber" it is, but in "Prost", all letters count.

In Brazil we also say "Ricardo" instead of "Richardo".
We don't say "Fan-hio" also. We say "Fangio".

Brazilians are Latin language speakers also but we pronounce "Ricardo" because we heard this is how he want to be called.
