Sadly seems common in certain parts of the country. Never had seen this buying in NY where there is a TON of competition but it is very common in Colorado where I live now and apparently North Carolina where I purchased a land rover last year.

I'm not sure if the same holds true in every state, but in NJ, if you charge a doc fee it MUST be tacked on to every sale. We cannot use it to bargain with or even drop it. I assume the law was drafted so a dealership could not discriminate and charge less desirable customers a FU fee, I suppose. I don't know a single dealership that doesn't charge a doc fee.

First check this morning and there is certainly some cash in the room. $2,450,000 at the moment and is hasn't been up for 24 hours yet. This will be interesting and could be a real wake up call to the auction houses and their ridiculous buyer and seller fees. BAT's fees are capped and really low.

If its anything like the one auctioned with Monterey it will hammer around 3 mill. That car had delivery miles on it as well.

So it's federalized? Or is a US spec car that was sent to HK?

According to the VIN decoder I use the 8th digit, "A", indicates Left Hand Drive, North America.

Battery change already with less than 100 miles? Isn't the car supposed to be plugged in for long periods of storage? Just curious.

Reserve not met at a bid of $3,125,000. Cheap advertising for the dealer and an effective stress test for Bring a Trailer's web site, but good for little else.

    Yes sperry!

The sales are much better on the lower end spectrum e.g. F355:

    Cheers!

Any thoughts on why it did not sell or get bid higher? Certainly seemed like a no stories time capsule car.

What is fair value, $3.5M, $4M? Or has the market dropped?

It's not like half the major bidders at the big auctions are not bidding on the phone.

An auction just for show, advertising dressed up as a sale in order to increase eyeballs and generate clicks... new boss, same as the old boss.

Great ROI on the $99 listing fee for the advertiser -- I mean seller!
