Hi Simon, Im not sure when you took the picture, but the vertical hose the bottom clamp is not done up tight in that photo there is a definate gap between hose and clamp, it would ruin your day if it blows off.
Will double check thank you, but hose is also a little long as I generally position the clamp close to the tube flare for the best sealing, further up the hose the tube bends so there is a natural gap. Will let you know.
All tight and running well cleared up misfire I had with a distributor rebuild, outer bearing was toast, rotor arm had been broken and glued back together and general debris and slight stickeness to bob weights. Runs much better now and was easy to time in.
F Image Unavailable, Please Login or timing took all the plugs out and turned the engine via the crank pulley nut whilst checking alignment of the AA mark using the remote camera, image is a bit faint but shows up well on the camera screen.
Hey Simon how did uou get on with that hose clamp was it ok. Great to see someone doing their own maintenance on their car, i do all my own it probaby takes me longer than a workshop ,but in my past experience if you want it done right do it yourself.
Hi Graeme yes hose clamp was tight no problem, really need to lose about 15-20mm off the hose length, agree with comments on diy as some of the workmanship from supposed experts on this car has not been good.

Just some notes on carb tuning, before you even start with the vacuum gauges it is best to ensure all the carbs are in sync linkages wise and that all of the carbs have the butterfly in the correct position (just closing the first large progression hole). It is fairly easy to check this by taking out the progression hole screws and using a camera so the position of each carb throttle stop can be set. I take the linkages off to do this and then re-adjust each linkage in turn re-checking the progression hole is still covered. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
