100 yards across the lawn at Pebble Beach and then back to the trailer before it is returned to the collection - who needs it to to do anything else ?

Can't believe a sealed hood in a Ferrari. Might tilt forward with the front and side gaps. Want to see more of it. Pictures I'm sure not doing it justice. Right now kind of bland and better things to do with the $2M.

Good looking but a bit bland and conservative: it's impossible to make a bad looking car when you're copying a Testa Rossa.

It's good to see that Ferrari is going back to a simple and clean style though.

In fact, this is a reincarnation of the Ferrari 750 Monza, hence it carries the same name.

This beautiful 750 Monza was present at the event:

I think the car is fantastic. A really bold move by Ferrari to make a crazy sports car based on one of their greatest engines. I hope it is substantially lighter than the 812 which will make it a blast to drive. I am a little surprised by the rumours that they will make up to 500 for 1.5-2m...Let’s wait and see what Ferrari say...

0572 M, the car that the factory loaned to the Monza Museum between 1965 and 1988.
Carrozzeria Brandoli rebodied this car in 1998 for the factory.

But probably a lot more fun to punt around a track than the Goldfinger DB5's Aston is knocking out.

Do we know if it has a carbon tub or is it based on the 812 chassis?

Supposedly 812 chassis, only CF bodywork. But seeing how high those door sills are, I suspect the chassis has been seriously reinforced.

I was just about to post that I prefer Ferrari's approach to this market segment which is to build modern interpretations of classics rather than pump out "continuation" models.

Wasn't really sure about this car (actually like it now I have my head around it) but from a business point of view I can see Ferrari following the luxury goods model of sub brands (think Ralph Lauren Polo and Purple Label etc).Must make sense if they want to continue trading at a luxury goods multiple.

Final thought on options across the range (off topic),my old 550 had the commemorative "F1 Campione del Mondo" plaque.I badly want those to start appearing on the modern cars again.

No screen, not road legal in their biggest market, cramped and boring looking, terrible interior and 8 timers the price of the car its built on. Given the F60 and this, Ferrari is taking itself in a sad direction to appease shareholders/Fiat debt. Just another blatant money grab from Maranello with little to no innovation.

That old Monza that they had on stage had more presence.
