Thank you ! Engine number as well maybe ? I have an other question for your car if I may, do you have any bleed screw on the thermostat housing ?
Tipical Trilleblack: "hello, nice to meet you! Does your car have a bleed screw on the housing of its thermostat? This is very important for me and will determine whether or not you and I can be friends." Just kidding, of course!
Thank you ! Yes, I have a list, it helps to understand all the change on the car. I have more or less 2/3 of all 308 models.
Your welcome. Wow must be a big list already ..maybe one day you can find time to post it up?Would be interesting to a lot of us i guess
I've already shared it with few owners here whom are involved in the registers (GTS-GTSi-GTBi). Any inputs are welcome if there is anybody interested.
Unfortunately no, I am sorry. I started from nothing and there is already good registers about the GT4 so I restricted my search on all 308 models...
Not a list but the result of TrippleBlack's ( ans some others ) work http://www.308-328.com/308/308spectechcarben.html
Hi guys, i just discovered the assy-no on my '85 308GTS-QV (swiss-spec) the other day (although i own it since 2006), and was wondering, weather it is a 4-digit number. So i've not just read all pages of this treat, but on those i read, everybody has 3-digit numbers, or - 3-digit with an A. Moreover, does anyone knows, on which particular parts of the car the assy-no has to/should appear - and where? So far, i only found one in the engine bay and one on the front lid... Al.
Swiss and Swedish market GTS QVs (ZFFLA13S) are included in the same seqence with the standard Euro-spec cars (ZFFLA13B), so yes, late cars have four digits as they built that many. Please share your numbers!
and if I can afford to add: there is no "A" at the end of the Euro sequence, 4 digits started around January 85 for the GTS. the full engine number, that would be great too, it should be a F105A046
I checked several 328 and I saw various car with apparent body number on the front lid and some other not, same with the rear hood ....
Adding another car to this thread # F106AS-27943 USA 308 GTS Carb Production date May 1979 Assembly # 891 (on the rear lid), 891A above the Ignition Coils Engine # F106AE-<star>01196<star> With the Body # being so high, I wonder if they did not reset the #s between 78 and 79.
If you wish to add to your list, details are also with both 308 gtb registers. 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB Fibreglass Chassis 20267 Build No. 118 Giallo Fly Nero Interior
I'm already registered here: http://308qvregister.com/WebMainPages/308_gts_qv.htm Is it the above mentioned register? If not, it's an August, '85 produced 308GTS-QV, swiss spec, Chassis 59123 Assy No. 1260 (found so far on front lid and left main frame in engine bay) rosso corsa tan/blk. Interior Dashboard covered with needle felting fabric like in a F40. (originally Ferrari - not subsequently fitted)
20267 is a EU/RHD. It appears that Australian cars are in the same sequence with suffix AU. 27943/891A is a nice match with 27949/895A. 59123/1260 is a nice match with 59149/1261, another S-car (Svizzera/Svezia). No, the sequence was not changed between 1978 and 1979, no need to change it as nothing in the production really changed. Ferraris did not really have a model year before introduction of 17-digit VIN codes. A door tag was required in US from late 60's but it was just an add-on.
Hello Kare, Thanks for adding the Euro RHD details for me,I forgot to mention when posting, but had stated that the details were on both of the GTB sites if anyone was interested to find out more so did not bother to repost.
