Thanks for posting! Just saw an NSX (red too) yesterday on the streets and was in awe as the owner took off at a good pace from a light, car had a nice exhaust on it. Great car.

I own both a 355 and NSX. I agree with most of the article. To me they are two different animals. I love driving the NSX until I get in the 355 then I love driving the 355, until I get I get into the NSX.........

Having spent a decent amount of time in an early manual steering NSX prior to the 348, I think the article is bang on. Once I experienced some drivers seat time in an acquaintances properly set up 348, it was game over. Going A/B between the two, (IMO) it is a night and day difference to the ear, hands, and feet. As a classic exotic sports car experience, the 348 qualities soar. However, it demands open road and driving with passion. To drive around daily in traffic, the qualities of the NSX win, however to me that misses the point entirely for the type of car, and seats it in a different class. Absolutely still adore the NSX though.

The 348 came out at the same time as the nsx it made everyone thing twice about exotics and given that context the 348 got tainted but that's all anyone remembers. I think most people forget but when the Spider came out a few years later the same rags were just gushing over it. Chopped top and softer suspension. That and a few years to get over the Nsx is all it comes down to.

Seems all that remains in memory is the first impression. In-fact autocar and some of the current rags that call it the worst ferrari ever, I went back and read some of them from that time period, yeah they loved it back then.
