To the people who talk about imaging how amazing it will sound like that, have they considered the effects on sound of wearing a helmet and wind noise?

And yes, you absolutely need a helmet. You'll get **** all over your face and a stone would inflict serious damage. I've never owned a car where I didn't get a few loud cracks as a stone hit the windshield.

Cali T came from Flavio Manzoni. Not Pininfarina. Manzoni has started his work with 599 GTO and SA Aperta in 2010..

I think both the SP1 and SP2 are wonderful. Both are fairly simple and elegant compared to the busy lines of the 812. I’d like to see the clean shapes of these special models trickle into future designs. More curves. Fewer cuts, venting, intakes and angles.

As for their practicality. Why be concerned with that for these unique expressions? If I could afford them they certainly wouldn’t be my only vehicles.

Bravo Ferrari for having a little fun.

Can't be that difficult to build.
So potentially not road legal in USA and LHD only.
I know the hypercars are never available RHD but it would have been nice if Icona offerings were.
A lot (the majority ?) of the 50's racers were RHD.

Which, the sound or getting hit in the face by a stone at 60 mph on the highway?

I'd just assume that the sound of this would be no better than what the 812 Spider/Aperta will be.

You don´t ride bikes, do you?

There are poseurs in Harley-Davidsons and modded cafe-racers that use open helmets or just don´t use helmets to look cool. Normal people uses closed helmets that are way safer. And yes, I´m aware that a car is safer with windshield than without it, but a Volvo station wagon is also safer than a bike, a convertible or any kind of sports car, and yet not everybody drives Volvos.

it's the downside of having an aluminum tub vs a carbon one - needs lots and lots of re-enforcing

This kind of "old-time" design works on cars that pay tribute to an older era, but Ferrari is about modernity and high performance. Rest assured that aero performance will continue to be King for most Ferraris! They announced that they are going to launch a new GT (not sportscar), with old-school design, for those who are into that.

Rest assured that it is several seconds slower than a LaFerrari. It is just a decapitated 812.

Not looking to argue but I think limiting 'good design' as 'old time design' is like limiting Vivaldi to 'old time music' instead of calling it what it is, which is amazingly timeless music.

Why argue? We are just discussing. :)
The argument of classical music is not valid IMO. Cars are first and foremost technological objects. They have to be the best at their mission statement. If the design gets in the way of a supercar going quickly, it is a bad design, no matter how aesthetically pleasing it might be.

They came in as kit cars, you had to source and install the engine yourself.

I wouldnt disagree , but I would say that not all of us care about the next 1/10 of a second. Id choose a great looking car that hits 60 in 5 seconds over what i call 'transformers styling' that hits 60 in 2 seconds.

Im not sure if Im in the minority or not, but I know the number of buyers with my perspective are significant enough that Ferrari should pay some attention. And it sounds like they are.

Ferrari though cannot go technologically back to the '80s and market a 5'' car. Also, aero is about safety at high speeds, plus cooling for those mighty engines.
But as you said, there will be a "classic looking" car for those who like prefer delicate beauty.
