Whom would the forum recommend in Melbourne who has all the right gear to properly set up a 355F1 system? I’m still battling with the ridiculous beeping issue, and the general consensus from the 355 forum is that the system simply hasn’t been set up correctly after all the work I’ve had done. It occurred to me that I’ll be coming back from Tassie on my own at the end of October and could easily spend a day in Melbourne getting the problem sorted before coming on home. Any suggestions?
I've had dealings with the owner quite a while ago and I was not impressed. To be honest, it was to do with buying a car rather than servicing a vehicle but after that encounter I wouldn't leave my car there for a second. Just my opinion. I got the same impression when I went to see Sandro about an issue I had, and look how that turned out.
I spoke to him on the phone trying to get some info on my 308 that he sold when he worked at Duttons PL......Was not interested at all I guess because there was nothing in it for him......Should have asked Rocky my german Shephard.......Would have got more useful info out of him......
Glad it wasn't just me. When I said I was going to walk away to think about buying his advertised car (I never bought it in the end), MC changed his tune very quickly once there was a chance I wouldn't provide him with a sale.
Hello guys. Sorry to revive an old thread. I am in the market for a Ferrari in Melbourne. Been considering the California T - they are still under factory warranty. But strangely more drawn towards the looks of F430 and 360 even though they are much older, especially the interior... F430 is probably what I will end up buying if not a Cali T. Current staple includes a Maserati Quattroporte and Porsche Boxster - both daily drivers. I have never done a PPI before a car purchase. But the Ferrari buy would probably be the most expensive in my life so a PPI would be a good idea. I know F430 has cracked exhaust manifold as a big ticket item, and the clutch replacements. The car I am looking at has done 40kkm. Not sure if clutch replaced or not. Link here https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2007-ferrari-f430-f1-auto/OAG-AD-17387913/?Cr=13 Can I ask, practically, when do you do the PPI? You would expect the car needs to be driven to a workshop for the SD3 to be hooked up and the car to be jacked up to be inspected. This would probably take a few hours. When on earth in the buying process would a secondhand car dealer let you do that? (The above car is at Nick Theo) Deposit? A verbal commitment to buy if passes PPI?
I bought my car from Nick. He had no problem with me taking the car to Black Stallion Motors in Ringwood for a PPI Good luck
That's very good to know, guys. Thanks for the tip. So is the car usually driven to Black Stallion (as a test drive, for example) or on the back of a flat bed? I imagine price negotiations would come after the PPI, obviously? Given issues might be discovered during the PPI, etc.
